Who knows, Jordan played in the hand-check era. He was the master of the hidden elbow-tap. If we played by 90s rules, I think he could certainly slow LBJ down a little bit. By modern rules, probably not.

genro actually said something Pro LBJ ??

Dude LBJ is a once-in-a-generation player. He's far and away the best player in the world right now. No one is disputing that. He could end up as the greatest ever. But he has a LONG way to go.

He ain't Jordan. Not yet, anyways.

And I agree to that, so maybe my intial quote topic should have read this

How can anybody say LeBron does not have the potential to be the best ever??

Better?

That's what 95% on this thread think

I don't think either MJ nor LBJ would be able to stop the other ... so the question who would ball more, win more, and intangibles.

The way I see it LBJ might ball more and COULD POSSIBLY win more but as of RIGHT NOW MJ has 2/3 of those ... so MJ is better.

Let's just revisit this topic years down the road after seeing what happens but AS OF RIGHT NOW YOU CAN'T LOGICALLY SAY LBJ IS GREATER THAN MJ ... 6 >>>>> 1.

Not yet, but unless we wait for 8 years to have this discussion we have I try and compare them now because who else can you compare LeBron to?

And when you say you haven't seen 90's Pippen that supports my point that Jordan had to be surrounded by other great players as well in order to win it all. The fact that LeBron even got there with that embarrassment of a cavs team speaks to his greatness. I mean I'm pretty sure Anderson Varejao was a starter.

YES ... and I can't disagree with you but rather I'd have to agree with that statement.

or any other player ever. His drive, poise, finishing ability, and will to win was the greatest ever in ANY SPORT

Well I'm 100% confident Jordan would've gotten to the Finals as early as Bron did if the East had been that bad.

Remember, the east during Jordan's early years had two all time great dynasties: the celtics and the pistons. Other teams like the Cavs were also very solid.

The east during Bron's early years was absolute shite by comparison.

You can't blame him for beating who was in front of him.

But point taken.

Since the OP has recanted his post & admits LJ has the potential at this time to be better as opposed to actually being better, I'll simply add that one thing bout MJ that has not been brought up & that is that MJ was a cutthroat killer on the court. He was like a shark smelling blood when he sensed an opponent's weakness, even his own teammates. On the golf course, at the poker table,on the court, he wanted to not only win but destroy you in the process. LJ does have great intensity, but MJ's was at a whole different level. He almost literally rode Christian Latner into the floor when they were on Dream Team 1.

After reading through this thread, I bet the OP would hop on LeBrons dick if given the opportunity.

Michael Jordan is the best player of all time. I don't see that changing. His accomplishments far outweigh LeBitch's and I don't see him ever catching up.

It was a different game back then too. Teams actually played defense all season too, instead of just in the fricking playoffs.

Had Michael Jordon not played baseball, he would have won considerably more championships and MVPs.

He was dominant in all aspects of the game and more clutch than anyone before or since.

The only person you can dream of comparing to MJ is Wilt Chamberlain
