CDC has a heavy presence in Atlanta
About the only way to get on with CDC now is as a contractor, and lab workers may not be a contractable area.
You could also look into the big food companies (GMO anyone?) or possibly alternative fuel companies (there are some doing research on algae or other organisms as potential power sources).

Yeah, I have a 4.0. Does that help with the job selection process? Or just getting into grad school?

I was a microbiology major and was always told that I was basically unemployable with just a bachelors degree.

You should prolly have this Convo with your advisor, and not the with the great minds of TD. in all honesty.
My advisor was great when it came to any questions and knew exactly what direction to point me in.
Now if I actually listened to my advisor is a while different story haha

With my B.S. in Biology. What are some potential jobs to take right out of school? I want something that will potentially pay for graduate school in the future, as well as provide a solid income.
You're fricked. I don't know any ballers with that as their major. You're wasting someone's money.

I have talked to my advisor several times. She has helped me set up a potential internship. She's cool and has helped a lot. I was just hoping to get some good specific information on a potential career track from people across the south east.

Advisors know nothing about the real world.

You were lucky then. My dept advisor's career advice left no questions as to why they had become a college advisor. Faculty advisors can be a little more helpful, but they are just gonna say go to grad school.

How good a student are you? If A student, the pharmaceutical companies could be of interest to you.
Medical school is also an option if you have great grades.

Like sales? I don't think I would enjoy selling anything.

I know a lady who got her undergrad in biology and went to work for the Fed Gov doing something with protected species. She basically travels and makes reports, earns 92k and has been there for 9 years.

That is more of what I am looking for. Does the government list jobs like that to the public, or do you have to know someone?
