Wen was born in Macau (at the time a Portuguese possession that is now a "special zone" in China like Hong Kong.) and after her mom divorced Wen's father they moved to Hong Kong for a few years before Wen's mother married a Chinese American businessman.
So, off they went to NYC for a few more years, before finally settling down in glamorous... Pittsburgh. Supposedly the restaurant the family owned is still in business but I don't know if the Wen's still own it all these years later.

Roman General Diocletian is proclaimed emperor by the armies of the East and West after the death of Carinus at the Battle of the Margus
To say the Roman civil wars of this era were bad for Rome is like saying cannibalism is a social faux pas. Technically correct but really missing out on just horrible it was.
Before the civil wars broke out Rome was at its absolute apex of power and development. The economy was robust, the Romans had enjoyed an extended period of peace (other than minor border squabbles), and the glory of Rome was unmatched. Not even ancient China compared to them.
And then it all turned to shite. Rich Romans gamed the system to keep from paying taxes, demagogues turned the populace against itself, traditional alliances were abandoned, making enemies of former allies, and when the fighting started it devastated the intricate system of trade that had supported Rome and its legions.
Thankfully everyone learned from the Romans mistakes and no one would make such foolish errors today.

Personally, I don't consider an overpowering state as being a good thing and I believe the fall is a good thing that happens for good reason.
The corruption didn't end Rome, the corruption was because of Rome and a state that had no limits on it's power.
When in fact, the federal government shouldn't have such power to enable those levels of corruption to begin with.
So I hope for the fall of the powers that took over the US in 1913 and the return of those powers to the people instead of international bankers.

What a day. Haven’t been on as I’ve been trying to keep the siblings in line. I may need to start a thread if it gets any crazier.

A blind man went to a restaurant.
menu sir? asked the owner. I'm blind, just bring me one of your dirty forks, I will smell it and order. The confused owner went to the kitchen to retrieve a fork, and returned to the blind man. The blind man smelled the fork with a deep breath, yes I will have the lamb with seasoned potatoes and spring vegetables. Unbelievable, thought the owner. The blind man ate and left. Two weeks later the blind man returned. The owner, wanting to know how good his smell is, quickly went to the kitchen where his wife Brenda was cooking and said, do me a favor and rub this fork over your private part which she did. He then goes to the blind man and gives him the fork. The blind man takes it and puts it to his nose and says, oh interesting! I never knew Brenda works here!
