how do yall think the media and people would have reacted if he blew the whistle while still in the U.S and the gov used a drone strike on him?
do you think we see outrage for using a drone inside the U.S or would people just be like its for our safety so im ok with it? Im leaning to thinking near half the country would be ok with a drone strike inside the u.s boarders if the gov says it was needed

even if switzerland or sweden accepted him id feel like we would send some kind of gov agents in to handle him.
We can't be that obvious about it. The world knows who he is now. Having him suddenly turn up missing wouldn't look good for America. Talking about totally abandoning the moral high ground on human rights.

same with any other country other than china and russia.
China and Russia won't take him for other reasons, mostly to keep decent relations with the United States. I'm mostly focused on China with this. Xi Jinping is trying to build relations with the US, so he isn't going to take him in. Putin does what he wants, so taking him in clearly isn't in his best interest either or he would be doing it.

that is of course if they aren't using snowden as a distraction to get heat off the other scandals
I don't think that was the goal, but it certainly has worked out well for Obama. The fractions on POV split the traditional Dem v GOP. The libertarian right and the hardcore progressive left are equally upset. The middle thinks Snowden is a criminal. Probably why he's been pretty quiet about the whole thing.
Finally...nothing drives a point home like Putin riding a bear.

the putin bear picture has become my favorite picture.
I think the gov could get away with killing him in another country. The media is probably over the phone tapping thing so they would fall right in line and not report it and americans attention span is only a few days anyways so any outrage at all would be gone by the end of the week.
the libertarian attention span is longer but outside of the internet we dont have a voice so its not like it matters

I assure you that story would get out. Even if it was foreign media who broke it. The question is how long would the outrage last. If Fox News started fanning the flames going after Obama's executive powers...maybe it has legs. Few non-Fox viewers knew/cared about Bengahzi, but they beat it into the ground until people did.
I just think the nature of this situation would lead to a lot of questions the administration doesn't want to deal with.

I dont think the outrage would last that long. I also think the outrage this time would be from the left, not the right as they seem to be in agreement that snowden is a traitor so i dont think they would have an issue with the gov killing him. the left would cry for a bit but in the end return home.

The one time the GOP outrage would actually be useful...

If this ends up being the case, I'm moving to the land down under. The collective psyche of this country is fricked.

you don't go squealing to other damn countries about it and reveal "secrets."
To my knowledge, he's just stated that the U.S. was spying on it's allies. John Kerry said this is normal among allies. So did he really reveal any secrets if the Secretary of State acknowledges that it's a normal activity among countries?

I really find the rights stance on this to be interesting. they post facebook after facebook status about how horrible the gov is abusing power and then when someone actually lets out what is going on they flip on the guy and call him a traitor all because the gov used the word terror and threatening american safety.

It's like how everybody hates Congress but loves their congressman/woman.
Yeah though, it leaves you shaking your head.
