well phils freedom of speech wasn't violated. I think A&E made a stupid call on this but if they want to frick their business than they can go ahead and do that.
I do agree that America is getting more pussified. All you have to do is look at the news from the 1960s every man was smoking on set while delivering the news. Now you can't even have a cig ad on tv. The country is turning into one giant vag

Sex and sexuality, heterosexual or otherwise, is a common theme in all sorts of expression. You all act as if this is surprising.
Yeah, but public displays of homosexuality are icky and gross.

Hey, I agree. I don't give a shite, nor do I care what he said. I don't watch Duck Dynasty so whatever.
I'm just pointing out that nobody's rights were violated at all. I think that's an important point in this discussion.

I realize there's no perfect apples to apples comparison to gay pride parades, and if that's what you're going to pick nits over then, well, you're wasting your time.
This whole thread is a waste of time. Us talking to each other is a waste of time. This site is built to be a waste of time. Your point is moot.

My point is that sex and sexuality is ever present in our day to day lives, particularly in media and entertainment. It's only "flaunting" to you when it's gay sex that's in the mainstream.
I'm talking about parades, brah.

You'd probably never call something like this...
..."flaunting" of sexuality (even though it's sexy as frick).
I'd call it the cheerleaders for my favorite NFL team.

You ever been going to town, and then shifting positions or whatever and you accidentally slip it in the wrong hole(Satan's Alley)? First off the reaction from the female is absolutely hilarious, but on top of that, it doesn't feel as good as the other one.
So, aside from the intolerance and ignorance due to his religion, he was sort of spot on with his comments.

I don't watch it, but I own a t-shirt I bought at a Buc-cee's in Bastrop, TX. My dad loves it though, but my mom thinks it is too low brow. I mean it's basically the Osbourne's but 10 years later and in Louisiana.

Me and you are on the same page.
And I don't think gay rights are thrown in our face. They are a group of people who have been discriminated against for a very long time, so let them have their parade.
What I don't like is the hypocrisy from the gay community and I don't believe he deserves the backlash for his comments. That's all.

You know as well as anyone else that the gay community can get away with much more. Had a gay person made remarks about how a butthole feels better than a vagina or even an atheist saying something negative in an interview about Christians, nobody would bat an eye.
I mean, yes and no.
It's still much easier to, say, get elected to the Senate or become the CEO of a Fortune 500 company as a heterosexual christian than it is as a gay atheist. So to pretend as if society somehow treats them to an unfair advantage is very dishonest. Sure, they can get away with saying a few things that their counterparts can't, but that doesn't make them any less marginalized.
If you're going to quibble over something as insignificant as the double standard present in this controversy then that's fine. That's nothing better than the "black people can say the n-word but I can't" faux outrage we see on this board all the time. It's nitpicky nonsense but I won't doubt that it's the case. I just don't think it's all that big of a deal.

Been to that Buc-cee's

And I don't watch the show, either. I don't watch any reality tv, tbh.

I agree. If you don't like him, don't watch his show. That's how a marketplace of ideas works.

Not even close to the same thing, but if you're so foolish as try and insinuate that gay rights and the CRM for blacks are the interchangeable, I'm down to laugh at you for it

No it's not. I can google hate speech and give you some real examples if you'd like.

It's the exact same thing.
Black people didn't choose to be black.
Gay people didn't choose to be gay.
Discriminating against people for just being what they are is deplorable.

My opinion on the matter is not religion based, but obviously you don't care, so this is a pointless conversation anyway (as most with you on social issues are, naturally, because we're on opposite sides of the aisle).

Then yes, in the very stupidly narrow window you've chosen to look through, no, there isn't a heterosexual equivalent of a gay pride parade. I'm not sure what you think this reveals but whatever.

They are not the same.
