We have a pregnant cat that someone I know offered to come relieve us of, as the dog hates it and would likely kill it. I've pet it before and it seems nice.

Yesterday it latches onto my hand and bites DEEP.

long story short, it's dead and I undergo 3 sets of shots.

Rabies is fricked. You see any wild animal, you go the other way unless you've got a gun trained on it.

Even with no signs or symptoms, it can incubate for years. Had I waited to get treated, even the first symptom is likely death.

frick that.

Also, doctor said it's exceedingly rare in cats , though not impossible.

Said 95% of cat bites as well as human bites become infected at best. And that dog bites only infect 5% of the time. Interesting

I live in GA, where the most common rabies hosts are foxes and bats I believe. Didn't expect it to be in a cat.

Most fricked disease on the planet I think, next to dementia.

If you lose the hand pirate hooks are cool.
Lots of good booty jokes with a hook.
Thoughts and prayers for swift healing.
Did you have to get shots since you now have rabies?

Can you post pics if you start foaming at the mouth?

Cat bites are extremely dangerous. Nearly lost a middle finger a few years ago when one clamped down on my knuckle. Had to have surgery and remove all the cartilage from that knuckle. Doc said had I waited a few more days might have lost the entire hand. Antibiotics didn’t touch it either - tried that before surgery. Vet said cat bite is among the worst you can get due to resulting infections

You should be worried.

All domestic cats spend their waking hours thinking of a way to kill you.

Never trust one of those bastards. I had a 20lb Tom sink its teeth and 4 paws worth of claws in my inner thigh and leg.

frick a cat.

I knew a feller got his thumb eaten by a horse. Course, the extend hospital stay was to recover for the other damage done when the horse savaged him. He lived but got tore up pretty good.
