Oh yes! Though you don't believe Jesus existed at all you have this deep rooted belief on the authorship of the New Testament which joins together you and Peter Kirby where previously y'all didn't see quite eye to eye. It in no way at all had to do with the argument you were already having that you took this stand. And you certainly had 100% heard of Peter Kirby before agreeing with him on this one and only topic.

And I don't care if you expect from me. I don't even know you, so it would never cross my mind to expect anything from you at all.

That would be more fun on politics, that has the highest concentration of bible belt ignorance of any board. Id say a good 20% of the regulars are YEC.

I wasn't aware we buried the hatchet while I was posting that last post. I'm good with all you guys.

Especially you, Straws.

For the record though, you can't prove the world is older than 6000 years old because that's how old it is.

I'm just shitting you.

This is one of the stupidest things that you've said.

I think anonymous authorship is among the best arguments for Jesus not existing. That means that most of the information was secondhand, and if you've ever played "Telephone" you'll see how well that works.

Furthermore: You clearly need a lesson on the genetic fallacy.

The genetic fallacy, also known as fallacy of origins, fallacy of virtue, is a fallacy of irrelevance where a conclusion is suggested based solely on something or someone's origin rather than its current meaning or context. This overlooks any difference to be found in the present situation, typically transferring the positive or negative esteem from the earlier context.

Jump up ^ Honderich, Ted, ed. (1995). "Genetic fallacy". The Oxford Companion to Philosophy. Oxford University Press. ISBN 978-0-19-866132-0. -- references.

Again: We can disagree on one thing, but it is irrelevant on another. The world is not black and white.

And that you opened with: HE SAYS HE'S MATTHEW, SO I BELIEVES IT -- is fricking stupid. It's as if you've never heard of Pseudepigrapha.

Who said that about the book of Matthew? I said it about the book of James, which isn't one of the Gospels and is one of the most intimate books of the bible, talking very openly and honestly about things not mentioned anywhere else in the bible. It's that reason that I take it's authorship to be who he said he is at it's beginning. If you think that's fricking stupid than I'm good with it if you're good with it.

It's called caricaturing.

Yes, saying that you believe an author is who he is based on who he says he is is not intelligent at all. Especially regarding historical text.

Since I believe you, you must feel this way about historical text in general, right? Who do you believe wrote MacBeth? Or Leaves of Grass? Caesar and Cleopatra?

I believe that Kirk Cameron may have actually existed but I do not believe he is the fulfillment of prophecy or that he performed miracles.

If you've never seen Ray Comfort's videos, you should check them out. Holy shite its good stuff.

I completely respect lots of christians, but this guy is the biggest eye roller of all time. He basically goes to college campuses, interviews students and then takes the ones who know nothing about the faith and stumble over their words and make them into mini-documentaries about how flawless his christian logic is.
