Kids today buy their charcoal in a bag and season it with Girl Scout juice, they know nothing. Make your own charcoal with the wood you chop and split (letting it age correctly first). Then go out and hunt a nice turkey instead of that product they call turkey in your local grocer. Then find some old fart like me in your hood and have them show you how to build a real fire from scratch.

My secret recipe is having a swing now and again of a real KY bourbon or some EKY mountain spring water, but that part is not for the inexperienced.

I use a chimney to start the charcoal, no lighter fluid taste.

Those things are awesome, I grill with propane, but my dad uses charcoal, and I got him one of those a few years ago. It was a game changer for him. He’s never used charcoal lighter fluid since.

You need a chimney.

This is the correct way.

For anyone who wants to use it for the first time, when you see white ash on the top coals, it's ready to put into the grill. All the coals are lite and by the time the grate gets heated the black will all be gone.

Yeah for piston engines. Jet fuel is more like diesel though.
