Deshaun Watson...pending suspension length

How long will the suspension be? And when will we know?
The Browns assumes a 6 game suspension like Rothleberger got about 10 years ago. But Watson has 22 lawsuits for sexual assault and the particular lawyer for plaintiffs almost always wins. Also the MLB just suspended a pitcher for 2 years for sex assault .
Also the rest of the owners are pissed at the Browns for fully guaranteeing $230 million which escalates contracts overall.....
If Watson does not settle he is tainted and draws huge bad publicity down on the NFL. I think Watson has to settle before season then gets a 2 season ban. Would have been a 1 season ban if they had not made his first year payments so small trying to avoid any monetary penalty....
What do you think ...

GRand jury declined to seek criminal charges. Hovever 22 civil lawsuits were filed and are proceeding. So he was never cleared or formally charged. The Grand Jury must have thought it unlikely that “ beyond a resonable doubt” was presented. The civil trial just needs a preponderance of the evidence level of evidence. The fact that there exist more than 22 of these instance ( there are more) says a lot.....

APPAREntly the nFL is going to Houston to meet with Watson this week......my guess is the nfl will react to the situation by suspending Watson untill resolution of the 22 lawsuits with the reservation of a further suspension at their discretion.....
Think about it ..the highest paid NFL player and the only one with a fully guaranteed contract, has 22 pending lawsuits for sexual assault....a very bad look for the NFL....

How can they suspend someone for just for being accused of something? Especially when a grand jury declined the suit?
Anybody can file suit on anyone else, for anything.
So if a big game is coming up, I can go bet the farm on one team and then go file a sexual abuse charge against the other team's best player and have him suspended?
How is his suspension even a consideration?

Think about OJ murder case, he gets off on criminal but is convicted on civil trial...

Have you ever been on a grand jury. it is very hard to get a no bill on cases involving women accusers. at least 90% of cases before a grand jury that involve women accusing men get a true bill. Watson can and will be able to use the No Bill in his defense.

The NFL investigator keeps going back to talk to Watson. To me that indicates this is not an easy decision.
With the MLB suspending a pitcher for 2 years for sex assault, I doubt the NFL issues a light suspension .. on one hand you have scores of billions of $ invested in an NFL that has a PR issue..on the other hand you have one player with 22 lawsuits for sex assault

REad that NFL will do nothing till after discovery phase of the 22 lawsuits, or sometime in July.........
This thing will drag on ........
Seems like Watson just needs to settle the lawsuits if he wants to play this year, but I don’t think that either of those two things happens......

A new lawsuit was filed by an additional accuser. This means NFL can suspend Watson after the first suspension per NFL rules. A new investigation means a new suspension. Up to 23 now….

Reported that the nfl in its internal “trial” presented only cases from 5 women. Maybe DW gets off lightly since the NFL “prosecutors “ did little....Maybe only a 6 game suspension....

The suspension will probably be announced next week. I have heard all the stuff about a light prosecution attempt and an expected light suspension and the flip side which is the whole nation saw the Real Sports expose’ on HBO and know that Watson deserves significant slap down...
In the end I think Goodell has to protect the image of the NFL and the 100s of billions $ invested in the NFL machine... an indefinite suspension and he can reapply to stop suspension next summer ie 10 months...
The thing is as soon as the suspension is announced more lawsuits will be filed against Watson..they can’t have him actually playing in games till this PR problem is handled certainly not while growing....
After this whole fiasco you have to believe the Browns management was so pressured to win big that they lost the ability to think rationally if they ever had that ability. I would think every Browns player wants out of that dumpster fire right now; none would be comfortable with Watson’s baggage and now they know the management is flawed.

It is official. 6 game suspension and no fine. Basically the absolute minimum….nfl sweeps it under the rug…. The attorney may make some noise but looks like the nfl says it is over

Announced, 11 game suspension, $5 million fine, has to see a shrink....was worked around his contract hence the 11 games....
Seems light but not nothing......
Now the story will be how much noise do the victims make and how will this continue to smear the NFL ......
