I'm going off memory so the details may not be exact, but I think Johnny Carson had a woman on The Tonight Show that had been born across the street from Thomas Edison before he invented the light bulb.
She was over 100, and had experienced the introduction of the first incandescent lights all the way up to the space shuttle.
That has always been fascinating to me.
