Astronomers can’t rule out that possibility after an exciting new discovery. A team in Canada recently stumbled upon ultra-brief repeating waves from deep space for only the second time in history.

Appearing on ABC News Live, Senior SETI astronomer Seth Shostak talked about the fascinating find: "Could that be aliens that are in those galaxies and they have some need to get in touch... well maybe."

Are we gonna get a happening with the greys/annunaki/other space farers soon

I was just thinking this morning that it's been a minute since we had a happening. This would be the happening to end all happenings.

Im ready for it. Even if its Independence day irl its worth it just to trash talk aliens online

With these deep space radio waves, wouldnt the originators be gone with how long the waves take to travel? Ive looked into it a bit, but it has been a while.

In a vacuum radio signal can travel about 186,000 miles/sec. To put it in perspective 1 light year is almost 6 trillion miles. Yeah, whoever sent it originally is probably dead if it is due to aliens. But then, their descendants may still be around

How do you know you aren't doing it already?
Personally I am a time traveler using technology to post from the year 2036. Yall in for some shite. Buckle up.

Why would aliens communicate in radio signals though? That would be like us communicating with smoke signals.

You figure they would just pull out their boost mobile phones and give us a holler

Don't know. Maybe its all they had when they sent out the transmission, who knows. Its probably not aliens but that would remove any interest in this discovery

Why would you time travel to now? Other time periods not what history and memory make them out to be?

Well I ended up last in my class in time travel school so while others are posting on twitter or facebook I got stuck with the AIDS site. I believe in you bahs tho. Don't go to LA in 2023. Also, don't eat any kind of kale product.

So you're saying that if it is Aliens, and that's a big if, they're poors and shite tier ones?

It could be that they communicated in more advanced ways as well, but this was all we were able to detect at this time.
Edit...after years of going back and forth on this, I do believe that there is intelligent life in places other than earth.
Also, for a real mind bender, perhaps these signals were from time travelers. It could be us, years in to the future, sending messages back home.

That's a possibility. So we're like ants trying to contemplate how 4G works.

Yeah either theyre on a low tech level like us or their other signals are too advanced so we had to wait on a really old signal

Nah, that's not how we do that. Trust me.

Some of us are. Hell, it took me two years before I was smart enough to post pics on here.

What if we get a signal, work really hard building a ship that takes decades, even centuries to get there, and then they're all dead when we get there. That'd be a good movie.

I remember that learning process for you, it was fun to watch.

Would be even better if you fed the passengers certain drugs to alter them to the new planet's environment and assuming the crew has a mental breakdown, everyone becomes attune to living on a space ship and not a planet
