The CDC is responsible for national coordination and for developing the tests. The fda has had some red tape as well.

Tell them the truth. Stop downplaying this. The SK leader did that and it led to a more educated and vigilant citizenry.
Obama and the swine flu is irrelevant to the issue at hand. Stop trying to make this about politics and focus on the pandemic heading our way.

He won’t. He has made a couple valid points the past few days on this. But I kind of get the feeling some of this is a blame Trump because he don’t like him. But this could get worse.

The fact that you keep on resorting to making this political proves how flimsy your points have been. Your thoughts have clearly been too greatly skewed by your political beliefs, which is why trumps public messaging has been so damaging. Way too many think this isn’t a big deal.

The CDC has been given full autonomy. This notion that Trump cut their budget is a complete farce. On one hand we have Democrats telling Trump to listen to doctors, and then they turn around and say that Trump, not the doctors, aren't doing enough. It's fricking ridiculous.

So this isn’t true?
“The cuts started in 2018, as the White House focused on eliminating funding to Obama-era disease security programs. In March of that year, Rear Adm. Timothy Ziemer, whose job it was to lead the U.S. response in the event of a pandemic, abruptly left the administration and his global health security team was disbanded.
That same year, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) was forced to slash its efforts to prevent global disease outbreak by 80% as its funding for the program began to run out. The agency, at the time, opted to focus on 10 priority countries and scale back in others, including China.”
For whatever reason, The cdc had failed badly so far.

Yeah and Congress had to pass that. The House controls the purse strings. Right?

As you bring up policy from 2018. That's rich.

My thoughts are that I have a great amount of responsibility and I will follow what my state and local health officials recommend. I am not going to make my decisions of the children I am responsible for based off Italy or CNN or Fox News talking heads. Anyone who follows any recommendations not based on state and local else is just being paranoid or foolish.

And you are the one who criticized the government on this so you are the one who brought politics in this.
ETA. People who complain with no solutions are not part of the solution but the problem.

I am not making it about political parties as you are. That’s the big difference.
The government led by the president are the leaders on this stuff, so they should be held accountable. Objectively, their response has been poor, by but You seem to take offense to any criticism towards them. You are simply too biased due to the conservative echo chamber you live In.

Real deal expert epidemiologists see this differently than you do. Listen to them.

Yeah the Dr is in charge of Infectious Disease at my local hospital here didn’t really go to college. Nor did any Dr that works in the department of health in South Carolina or the CDC. They are all fake and appointed by Trump. So yeah we are all stupid.
So you still will not answer my question, and it’s an opinion question so I am not going to crucify you for your answer. Do you feel we need to quarantine certain zip codes and impose martial law in those zip codes

There is a big difference between the ID that guy practices and the stuff dr lawyer does. One is an expert in out breaks, the other treats an MRSA infected knee.
Quarantining large areas is coming soon. That’s a next level of containment strategy.

Yeah I am aware of that. But thinks for letting me know.
Yeah could. But don’t think it will be until it gets worse.Never happened before. Death toll not high enough. St Patrick’s Day parade in Savannah still happening as of an hour ago. Maybe you should call the Mayor

Hate to break your heart, but Savannah mayor canceled that over 4 hours ago. You seem to be a bit behind in more way than one.

Nope I haven’t talked to my brother there( well Hilton Head) since this morning. You must have called.
He must have a better Dr than we do in South Carolina
