If there is one thing I remember about my last visit to LSU, it was that sketchy neighborhood that greets you as you exit I-10 after the river. That's north of campus ain't it?
That's the stretch between downtown and campus I refered to

Just because you don't related to something, that doesn't make it pretentious
If I had to have one adjective to define Austin, pretentious is it.
it has nothing to do with not relating. I've had tons of friends that lean the same way politically or religiously as me from there.
They're still pretentious.

Austin is too weird/overly pretentious for my taste. Of the major Texas cities, I like it's vibe the least
I have to disagree with my broheim here. I think it has the best vibe and outside of SA, has the most going for it and incredible events. And I haven't had much bad food there. I'd actually rank it the best food in the state.
The people themselves and traffic kill it for me.

Shut yo hoe mouf, ATX can't make breakfast tacos for shite

It's an egregiously dirty shame

San Angelo kicks both your asses at Mexican food anyways.

Yes it does.
If you don't like Austin for whatever reason that's fine. To call it pretentious is just factually innaccurate and born purely from your inability to understand the ATX

Nope. Pretty good with my statement.

Ok, I don't like it because it's my opinion that it's pretentious.

Incorrect. It's an opinion. DWI, Drac

Wouldn't somebody telling us our opinion is wrong because we just don't understand their opinion of it be fairly pretentious?

I mean, I know plenty of folks, plenty of Ags, who love ATX. Different strokes.
Seems like a lot of Austin folks are thin-skinned about their town, though. Baffles me. If you don't like Austin, it's "oh you just can't relate. You don't get why it's awesome."
If someone shits on SA, I just shrug. I love it here and am happy here. DGAF what someone else thinks

How about you back it up with some examples and then I'll explain to you why you're wrong

Like I said, if you don't like Austin for whatever reason that's fine.
But calling it "pretentious" with nothing to support it is intellectually lazy

Unless the reason I don't like it is because I think it's pretentious, of course

Dallas peeps are just douche suburbanites.
Austin itself blows them out of the water. But the people are still pretentious.
Dude, I live in Temple. We're a ugly mole on the side of 35 with very little culture. Know thineself. Own it.
