Conspiracy: For decades, tobacco companies buried evidence that smoking is deadly.

The truth: At the beginning of the 1950s, research was showing an indisputable statistical link between smoking and lung cancer, but it wasn't until the late 1990s that Philip Morris even admitted that smoking could cause cancer.

The benefits of quitting smoking are huge: food tastes better, your mouth feels fresher and, most importantly, your risk of tobacco-related disease drops significantly.

Smoking also causes your arteries to constrict. Which causes heart attack. I know this to be true.

I still smoke. It's a terrible habbit and I need to kick it.

All these things about cancer and heart disease are absolutely true. But I have found I can keep myself in good health despite the terrible habbit if I make sure I continue to exercise.

The key is not living a sedentary lifestyle. I'm going on 40 years old and still play basketball with kids half my age.

The day I stop being active though, my health will quickly go to shite. I know this.

I'll probably just quit the damn things soon. They're getting to where they don't taste good anymore.

I can spell just fine. I don't know what's up with the spelling of that word. My phone must be thinking I'm trying to spell Hobbit or something.

I don't get all the disbelief over this cover-up. Of course the tobacco industry knew as much if not more than doctors of the day. But I doubt there was ever an industry that permeated the population and was as profitable as cigarettes. To suddenly have big tobacco come clean prior to the Surgeon General's report would have meant total collapse of a billion dollar industry. In truth, it is dying a slow death that will probably take several more generations.

Big tobacco and the sugar industry have done a tremendous amount of damage both.

This is true, but beer is something that will always exist whether there is an industry for it or not.

We been making beer for many thousands of years. I wanna say that they've recently found evidence of people making beer ten thousand years ago.

Horray for beer!!
