The only true southern states are MS, AL, GA (minus ATL), SC and the panhandle of FL (also referred to as LA - lower Alabama). North Louisiana can be considered the South

Please refrain from calling it Dixie. You are from Ohio and don’t know better. Southerners really don’t like Yankees trying to be hip and that word should never be disgraced by a foul yankee accent.

I was complimented on my accent, although a woman thought I was from Canada.

Is that bad or good?

I only want to visit safe places.

I plan on spending the 4th with my brother, who lives in Texas. He's an Aggie.

We plan to meet up near Bryan. No plans, but he has mentioned Indian Lakes and Wolf Pen Creek. I look forward to it.

They have lots of fun things to do now, a lot
more than when I was younger.
I was about to go to town today (live outside of B/CS) but decided not to.

I want to see the historical places of Southern culture—Civil War battlegrounds, museums, traditional music, and maybe a beach.

Vicksburg is a great civil war park. Plan on a couple of days to see it all. The Cario ironclad exhibit is not to be missed. Fort Hill overlooking the Mississippi. Museums downtown too.

I plan on seeing Vicksburg. I wanted to last year, but spent most of my time down south in the east. What are the riverboats like?

If in Dallas, go to the JFK assassination site. Museum in School Book Depository, etc etc. Cool place to go visit where so much history was made.

I'd like to attend a game and tailgate at each SEC stadium. They say LSU is the loudest place.
