I live down the street from Briarwood high school. Have a few friends that send their kids there. It's a well regarded school, with some typical Christian school stereotypes. Some high school kids were arrested on campus a year or two ago for selling drugs, and some parents claimed they were not informed of it. Only found out when the local newspaper reported it, so it was a pretty big brouhaha. The past session the church affiliated with the school pushed the legislature to pass a bill to allow churches, and its affiliated school, to form their own police department, but the bill died in the state Senate.
Know nothing about this guy though.

Briarwood is real gay. They just had the state pass a law saying that churches can have their own lawful and legal police force.... let me reiterate, not security force, but actual state certified Police Force... Just so they could hire their own police, mostly to watch their High School.
And they did it all in response to a drug bust at the high school two years ago. Because never in history have rich private school kids been on drugs

I thought it died in the Senate? I know the House passed it, but I don't think the Senate did.
May be wrong though.

Actually I'm probably wrong. I don't care enough to keep up that closely.
Black people were beginning to call the whole notion of private church police forces racist for some reason... Not sure why. Probably because, police. But usually that's enough to kill a bill

I had it backwards. Senate passed it, but it died in the House.

The only real brouhaha was from the local newspaper columnist who claimed he was denied the opportunity to make fun of an affluent religious affiliated school where drugs were found. Even having the audacity to claim that drugs in inner city schools are always huge headlines, which is patently false.
John Archibald, of course. He's really lost it since he was outed on that bankruptcy column.
ETA - Sorry for going off topic, 808.

No they didn't.
Getting a bill introduced and getting it passed are not the same thing. The Briarwood police force bill did not pass. It never even came up for a vote in the House.

Sounds like he's well prepared for us, then. We won't let him start a private po-po though.

Sensitive much? I said it's a well regarded school, because it is. Sorry that Christian schools have some stereotypes that often are accurate.
