Hell, the depths of the oceans on our own planet are still a mystery, and we've been here for eons and they cover 70% of the planet. That alone is mind-boggling. No wonder the secrets of the universe at large are so fundamentally incredible to us.


A lot of it is tied into the lack of monetary reward for actually investigating these things. Most people wanted to see space for the thrill of extraterrestrials and now it seems hard to get people to wake up for anything other than that. Almost all things we talk about regarding space are radio bursts, irregularly shaped objects -- anything we can tie to that because the science community knows that funding will be cut.

Similarly, this applies to the bottom of the Ocean, which outside of drones might be impossible to actually really explore until years and years later.

Hopefully we get our shite together and eventually monetary concerns are a thing of the past so we can start to collect much needed data that may be pivotal to our survival.
