This morning on the way to work, I was driving down a two lane road and it was raining. My truck hydroplaned and drifted into the oncoming lane. Miraculously by God's grace, It caught on pavement and I was able to steer back in my lane. Had me shaking for a minute because it could have been a bad day for sure since two cars were approaching rapidly.

Any similar near miss, car stories that y'all want to share?

I was passing an 18-wheeler on the interstate when my front passenger-side tire blew out and it damn near took my truck underneath that trailer. I was pretty shook up for a couple minutes after I got over to the shoulder.

Was riding shotgun in a buddies Volvo leaving West Bloomfield, Michigan heading down M5. Hit black ice on the off ramp, rolled 5-6 times down the hill and came to a stop. Buddy and I got out without a single scratch. Outside of the car was destroyed but the inside held firm.

Christ, I live outside of Memphis, every time I go over there I have three or four scary driving moments and near misses.

During the crazy Birmingham ice storm of 2014, several kids at my son's school stayed with us because their parents couldn't get to them and we lived right by the school. Two of the children were adopted, one with special needs, and their mother desperately wanted to be with them. She had wrecked her car, and she lived a couple of miles away. She was begging me to try and drive them to her. I couldn't even attempt to drive to her place the first evening, but I tried the next day. I started down the completely iced over road with these two kids buckled in. Our neighborhood at the time was very hilly, and soon we were skidding out of control down a steep hill. There was nothing I could do to stop or steer the car. I told the kids we were going to crash and to put their heads down and everything would be fine. By the grace of god, we veered over to the curb at a lucky angle and we stopped sideways on the hill. I was almost too scared to get out, because I was worried the car would start moving again before I could get the kids out. I got them out and had to carry them a half of a mile up a frozen hill back to the house, but we made it. Their mom finally walked to us later that evening, and I got my car the next day after the road thawed, without any damage.

Coming home from the title game this year traffic was stopped in the right lane of I-20 so I got over to the left, then I saw why it was stopping a mid-90's Buick was coming at me head on going the wrong way. Luckily he got over on the shoulder and went by me, he had to be in his mid-80's.
