That was the forecast on Saturday, they’ve adjusted it to below 30 now. Should be fun.

Nah, at a certain point you don’t really feel a difference. It was 5 degrees on Saturday and -14 when I went to church Sunday, it didn’t feel all that different. -40 isn’t going to be that much worse. Just wear layers and don’t spend a ton of time outside. NBD.

Yeah once it gets into the low teens its kinda samey.
I wouldn't spend much time outside either but I gotta go do stuff during the days the blast is hitting. Fortunately it isn't gonna be -30. Might not even hit 0 according to some places where Im at
I know it got cold enough a few years ago that the fuel lines in my car froze up. Pain in the butt to get the thing to start, and even worse to work on in that weather

Did you mean it’s fantastic when it’s cold outside but you’re inside and not cold? That’s one of my favorite things and I think it’s tapping in to some very primitive part of the brain.

I like to look out on particular gray days, as a brittle polar wind whips whisps of snow across a seemingly lunar landscape and think, “Glad I’m not out there, frick that”. I think it’s channeling the first of our ancestors to go in a cave and look at his idiot brothers trying to stay warm under a tree.

You just gotta talk dirty to it, get it all hot and ready.

No, I was being sarcastic regarding that feeling being nice. My parents' home was older and not well insulated, and the heating never seemed to ventilate properly. Part of the house was warm, part of the house was an ice box.
So growing up, if it got into the negatives outside it was cold inside the house, real cold.
I enjoy being inside a warm home when its cold out. It may be the primal connection as you said, or it may just be the appreciation of not having to wear a sweatshirt to feel like its 60 inside.

Oh I talked dirty to it. I threw a wrench at the motor when it was like -15 outside one day. Still wouldn't start but I felt better

-27 to -45? That’s a pretty big range man. Can you drop a pin on your 8 digit grid to show us how cold it’ll actually be at your home?

Yea that sucks man, I can relate, my grandparents’ house is poorly insulated in areas and I used to hate going to visit as a kid because my room would always be cold AF and my Grandfather was and remains a hard arse who refuses to turn up the heat.

Now? A Cherokee, go ahead and add that to the file. That car that froze up though was my blazer. That diesel's fuel system never was right.
Worst thing was when itd start, I'd pull out of the drive way head up the road and itd die. So I'd have to bleed it and pray itd go again.
