Worst sporting (or entertainment of any kind) event that I've ever attended

Boring.
Annoying.
And defeating.
Most of the game was a total bore, shifting between first and second gear. No flow. No rhythm. No continuity. Stop. Wait. Start. Stop. Wait. Wait. Start. Stop.
The entire game is a sales pitch. Nearly every stoppage of play invites some kind of marketing pitch to the audience. I'm surprised the bathroom's don't have a corporate sponsor. Let me hear the goddam band, let me just be, let me enjoy this without the obnoxious overlay political correct corporate BS.
Babies. Lots of babies. Hill seats, moved twice, babies everywhere. Get a baby sitter. frick.
shite arse game. Boehm better have made a deal with the mob because there is no other excuse for his shite arse of a game. Mauk should be wheeling and dealing at a Mid Major, he's not a big time college football quarterback. Certain skills of his are great, but he just isn't an SEC quarterback. Not really even close.
Football sucks.
It's popular because it fits our society very well. It's a weekend thing. It's a short soundbite. It's 2 hours of focus. It's not like baseball that requires a daily frick to give.
Refereeing in football is the most subjective thing on the planet, and it dictates who wins and loses. It's a joke. The game isn't half as entertaining as we've made ourselves believe it to be.
I'll finish the rest of this after an 8 minute tv timeout. Sit on your hands and bore yourself to death until we continue.

Was this the first football game you attended?
It was a bad game against a bad team that we LOST! Columbia can be a fairly depressing place after a loss. Especially against a team like Indiana.
I agree that "all" football is overtly commercial.

The game gave me a headache.
The play on the field never got going. No rhythm from either team.
Uncommon amount of injuries causing long delays.
Too little music, too many sales pitches.
And babies, did I mention babies.
And dudes in white sunglasses that kept yelling really dumb things.

It never got going on TV either. In fact, I walked away from the game in the first quarter, which I never do unless I have to. Not because I was upset, I just couldn't get into it. Same thing in the 2nd half. Just no flow to the game today and the team played the same way.

I hear you man.
I remember going to Mizzou games with my Pop in the early 80's.
Shits a lot different and in many ways its a huge shame.

Gimme those anonymous down votes.
And sleep in your coward bed on your coward pillows, with your coward dreams.
Hahaha.

I forget all about those things. But now that you mention it, take another one...not so anonymously.
And yes, I kid my friend.

Completely off topic but what do you think about Schwartz's holdout?

I'm not entirely in tune with it.
Sounds like the Blues aren't going to come up from where they're at.
He doesn't have any leverage.
Guessing we'll see a bridge contract. Maybe a one year deal or something.
Could see a move or moves to make cap space.

I took my kids to their first game. At least they will start off by nothing will be worse. It reminds me of being a kid and seeing them lose to New mexico or some other turd. Pathetic game.
Kids still left with bright eyes but i think its because they liked all the junk food.

No question the program laid a turd.

It was the worst sporting event I've ever attended. Seriously.
The entire game felt like stumbling through Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas on ether.
Slow, discordant, and apathetic. Indiana played crafty and inspired, and our boys just looked... Hungover?
Brinser and Baggett were the only two that did their jobs well today.

Good to know others felt this way.
Spot on with the Fear and Loathing analogy.

I was working Taste of St. Louis so I didn't start watching until the 2nd half. But it felt like a Yost-ish offense again. And just no real flow at all.
I am beginning to think that's more of a Pinkel thing than a Yost thing and Yost just took the fall. Same with the defense. It's not Steckel, it's Pinkel.
Bottom line: we were out coached by a mile and a half today.
It won't get better next week.

LSU almost made a game out of nothing by throwing the ball into the endzone. We, on the other hand, throw the ball, what? 3 times all under 20 or 30 yards?

I defended Pinkel to the death as we transitioned into the SEC.
His recruiting and his scheme is not going to cut everyday in the SEC east.
Build the statue. Move on.
Thank you Gary for saving this program but we dont recruit the athletes nor the depth to compete long term in this conference.

I almost went to the game (I live in St. Louis), but then I remembered how much I hate being bludgeoned by the sound system during the warm ups, breaks in play, etc. It's loud, and it's oppressive.
I was a student during Woody's wilderness years, and while that wasn't fun, we could still enjoy the band and talk to each other without having to scream. It was football; nothing else. Bad football, but at least it wasn't a three hour tribute to Madison Avenue.
By the way, a lot of those 'babies' you saw are actually undergrads. They tend to be a little less mature and more self centered than real babies...
