Mevis isn't Thicker anymore. He's just fat. And is that leading to the off year? That uniform looks pretty tight now. He's a kicker but still an athlete on scholarship, you gotta stay in shape to do your job.

We used him in that situation like he didn’t have a bad game last week.. that’s why I was so confused, why we didn’t try and run it in.

Here's the thing, he's always been big, but he was an elite talent. At some point, that weight is going to interfere with the talent level.

Don’t care. Drinks offense lost this game. His play calling and lack of coaching lost this game.

I totally get that. But I think our elite kicker has eaten himself out of that category.

At his weight deep breathing becomes slightly more difficult. Kiskers need deep breathing to remain calm. An alteration could be affecting his kicking. He needs to kip the ice cream bar and hit the salad bar instead.

1 timeout left.
2nd a goal at 3-yard line.
Run the ball and win the fricking game.

I agree, but Mevis 20 lbs lighter maybe has enough energy to kick warm ups into the net, and actually makes that kick. This whole roll out of the recliner, brush the chips off my jersey and miss kicks isn't working. He's better than that. He's also eating himself out of a NFL career.

You never trust a college kicker. That’s always your plan B. We should have done runs every time.

EXACTLY. I was cringing watching Cook take a knee.

Agreed. The fat acceptance movement has gone too far. I wonder if Mevis intentionally let himself go to lean into his thicker kicker brand, in order to increase his NIL opportunities

If that is even a remote possibility, I'm done with college football.

If he made the chip shot we're not having this discussion.

He went from 85% to 91% down to 65% so far this year. He is noticeably bigger this season. Maybe he has the yips. Maybe he's hurting. But if it isn't the weight, what is causing this drop?

when you put on enough fat, your body puts it into your organs after a while, and that affects how all your body systems operate. carrying extra weight will make it harder to stretch out as well.
he needs to lose weight.

Well, what about the rest of the team and the coaches?

OK math is racist but it don't lie

May or may not have any bearing on the above stat

This is my guess. Being a kicker is almost all mental. He's probably thinking about it more.
