That's the stuff I was looking for. Legit reasons why he's not good. Thanks.

What coach wants to come here knowing they only have 2 years to get this thing turned around? Nobody wants to work with that short of a leash.

Which is why KA will be here next year too. I have no idea what KA will do in the future. No one does. What I can do is give my opinion on what he has accomplished to date. And that has been nothing. Those that defend it as a rebuild are just guessing at what the future will bring. I'm not saying fire him. I'm just saying it's been the worst 14 months of basketball I have ever seen at Mizzou and KA gets to carry that forever.

No but this is Mizzou not UCLA. Can we be great here, yes but not in 2 years. Let the man have the proper time

Coach K was at Duke?

The only time he won single digit games was when he coached 12 games one season before leaving for back surgery. He won 17 his first year. He did win 10 and 11 the 2 years following that, so I will give you that but it's still a pretty poor comparison.

I hear ya. I just mess around with it a bit because, well, the hoops is just that bad. It would drive me crazy if I gave a damn.

And KA can still change all of that but that's just my opinion of what I have seen in the past. Not what will happen in the future.

Again, I'm not calling for his firing. I am calling him out for doing what he's done which is have one of the worst seasons in the history of the entire basketball program at the University of Missouri and working on back to back years. That's not just rebuilding. That's not just bad. That is historically, embarrassingly bad.

Will he change it? Maybe. Maybe not. Will he get more time? I suspect he'll get at least next year and he probably should but that doesn't mean that in the meantime he gets a free pass. If they're shite, then they're shite IMO. I'm not going to act as if they're not historically bad if they are.

You're high, you're basically saying kill the program because you like the coach and aren't willing to see the reality of what's going on. It's crazy people still defend him. Unfortunately the losses will continue to pile up this season and more will turn on him as they see the truth of this horrible mistake of a hire.

There is no defending his body of work so far at Mizzou. I do get the idea that he should get more than 2 years, regardless of whether I liked the hire or not.

I'm a firm believer of giving a coach three years. However, that's predicated upon seeing improvement in each of the three. I'd say this year's squad is a smidge better than last, but that's like winning the 100 yard dash at fat camp.

In my mind, getting to (or really close to) .500 is a reasonable expectation in year two. If we're hovering around 10 wins again, it's probably time for a "Kim, shut the door" chat. Sadly, I don't know how we get from Point A to Point B this season.

I was on board at the beginning of the year, because the team looked like it was light years ahead of where they were last year...seemed to have a plan on offense, and the players looked like they all had a really good idea of what their roles were going to be. Against the mid-majors that has been the case. But this last game was pretty much the straw that broke the camel's back for me.

I don't know that wins and losses in Yr 2 of a major rebuild are going to tell the whole story, but I read somewhere that last year we lost our non-conference games to power 5 teams by an average of 18.75 pts last year, and we are losing them by an average of 18.25 points this year. NCSU is a decent team, but they also shouldn't be pounding Mizzou like this on the road.

Gabe at PM thinks this Illinois game is pretty much make or break for Kim, and I tend to agree. You can't wait for the breakthrough win forever. I am as patient as it gets, and have been to several games already this year, but it's time to show improvement, and given their performance against halfway decent teams, there's no indication this is going to get any better. I think if MU loses this one, there's a decent chance Kim isn't back next year, even if Mack is willing to let him stick around for Yr 3.

The Illinois game won't be the end of it. But if we get blown out and finish last in the league, it's gonna be tough to sell year 3 of Kim Anderson. And those are both more likely to happen than not happen, which should tell you all you need to know about his performance as our coach.

And that's sad, really, for him. He was a successful collegiate player and a very good D2 coach. A lot of people never make it to that level. And he will instead be remembered for this.
