Some of Heupals's offense will remain with some of Dooley's offense.

Welp, he has one now

My major concern would be the development of the QBs. He's never coached that position. Less of a concern would be the calling of plays. He's never done that either.

I'm not too concerned with the scheme. He's been around football a long time. I'm sure he can come up with a competent scheme. It will be the other two areas that make or break him imo.

He will be fine as an OC/QB coach this season. There’s too much talent coming back. His second and third seasons as OC & QB coach is when we find out how good he is.

It’s possible that in a year or 2 when JJ leaves to be OC somewhere that a QB coach is brought in and DD moves to TE’s.

Drew is very good, but he still has some development to do. So that will be an interesting case study.

I do agree that the development of the next guy in line will be more telling. I hope he's able to integrate some QB run game into whatever type of scheme he employs. Wilson is too good of a runner to not have that he a part of the offense next year.

Lindsey Scott as the top QB target this year, I do think that the QB run will be a big part of the offense after Lock.

All 3 of Scott, Wilson and Powell having that as a big part of their game.

Is it Powell that has a good and accurate arm? I know they’re all DT QB’s, but it seemed like 1 of them in the spring game showed a good arm too.

Just coach-speak. I doubt that we'll know much after the Spring Game. Good news, the competition won't know much either.

High-risk Odom.

I would lean heavily on the veteran OL and make sure Crockett & Rountree get a combined 35-40 carries a game. Try to keep Lock around 20-25 pass attempts. Run the ball and keep the D fresh.

I wouldn’t go as run heavy as that, but agree with the general gist of your idea.
Good offensive teams usually a pretty balanced. Diversify the routes that receivers run

Im expecting something similar to what the Chiefs use in a mixed spread/pro style scheme.
