I must be wrong, but I thought people talked like Hickman had serious problems (student behavior, etc.)

That is a solid bunch of buildings, very nice school. I would've expected it to be where the upper class kids go.
Could someone straighten me out on that?

Also, Shakespeare's pizza wasn't what I remembered it to be. And I think it is ridiculous you are supposed to give a gratuity at the counter for a place where you pick up your own food, grab your own plates, napkins, etc., and take your dishes and drop them off.

Shakespeare’s got to be kinda mediocre towards the end of my college days in CoMo tbh. Way too greasy. Kinda preferred Wiseguys.

Shakespeare's has always been overrated.

Maybe you should stay out of Columbia and never visit again.

So my complimenting one of the high schools and complaining about a pizza place I used to like means I hate the town?

I didn't post to hurt anyone's feelings. Mostly wondered about Hickman, and editorialized a bit about a local pizza place. The town isn't what it was when I went there, but it is still a nice town.

So any feedback on Hickman?
I figured I must be wrong, and am mixing it up with a different school. I told my daughter I wish she went to a school as nice as that, as far as the facilities go.

I've lived here a little over a year now. I've always thought Hickman is a nice facility. I've heard of a few behavioral issues, but nothing that doesn't happen at the majority of all high schools.

As far as Shakespeare's. Everyone raved to me about it. I don't think it's any thing special. I have had way better pizza at a lot of places. I act I love it though to avoid everyone's shock

Shakespeares don't hold a candle to Arris, but you've got to go to Jeff for that.

There is an Arris in Columbia on Nifong.
Shakespeare's is overrated but the gratuity is not expected is totally optional.
Hickman is a good school, my best friends daughter raves about it. My daughter really likes Rock Bridge but there are 2000 kids there. She transferred from Ladue, really prefers it. Thinks the career center kicks butt.

Ahh thanks for feedback on Hickman. It looked so much nicer than my daughter's school, which has 2000-2500 students (I think someone isn't funneling money to our school district the way it should be.) It looked far too nice a school to be a place with problems.

Can't remember--which district is Rock Bridge? I know it is a nice one. LIved in St. Louis my whole life but purposely avoided the "what school did you attend?" crap.

Hickman is a very old school and the past several years they’ve spent some money to clean it up. They used to be known for very poor student behavior, but after they opened up the 3rd high school that changed the demographics quite a bit. What once was a school with high athletic performance is now known for fine arts hahah

I'm a 2010 graduate of Hickman. I loved it there in my time. There weren't ever any issues. Its a great school. Both my grandparents, my aunt, and my sister all graduated from there as well, and my mom is currently an attendance secretary there. It's a good place.
As for Shakes, I like it alot. It is greasy, but I like it that way. Lol.

I used to use a napkin or two sopping the grease off the pepperonis.

I'll consider my Q resolved this way: whatever I heard was either about another school, or was clearly exaggerated. Schools with student behavior problems don't have nice things, and while there are nicer school facilities, Hickman's are very nice. Would be proud if my kids went there.
