Going 0-5 in the elite 8

Losing by a buzzer beater in the second round of the 1995 tourney to a UCLA team that would go on to win it all.

After going through the horror that was the Kim Anderson era, we finally have something great happen and get the #1 player only to lose him before the season starts.

Why basketball gods? Why? What did we do to deserve this?

Dude, just stop.

Yeah, it sucks but guess what...we still have a talented team. We have more talent coming in and a coach who has a proven ability to recruit.

We still have enough talent to make the tournament, which is pretty amazing considering the shite sandwich we were last year.

I can just see shitty Mizzou fans not showing up for games now though.

frick...this eeyore shite is worse than the injury itself.

Because I think it’s ok to melt for a half a day when the number one recruit has a season ending injury with 2 minutes of playIng time?

Everything Tiger Talker said is true and it goes beyond that. The 5th down, Van Zant, getting screwed in the Orange Bowl, DGB being a thug and kicked off the team etc...We have a pattern of shitty luck so let the guy blow some steam off.

When do we stop blowing off steam?

Sorry, it just annoys me to no end that Mizzou fans are so intent on being miserable.

Go check out stubhub for the conference games now. Mizzou fans flooding the site with seats. fricking hell man. It's just beyond pathetic. Negative energy begets negative energy and good god do Mizzou fans feed of that shite.

Maybe 24 hours later?

It’s not being a bad fan to be disappointed by this.

You're right. It's only the injury.

Not like Mizzou fans constantly latch onto everything negative.

I knew it, the second this injury happened, that Mizzou fans would tank on the entire season. Like clockwork, it's already happening.

OP, you are too young to be this jaded. You're a student. Get your arse down to the arena and support the team. There is still potential here that won't be reached in a lifeless arena.

meh, most were probably speculators anyway...although not very good ones; I can't imagine a worse time to sell than the day after an almost-loss to a below-average D2 team and minutes after the best player was lost for the season.

Think of it this way; if you didn't have season tickets now is a great time to get in on the cheap and show the guys still playing that you're there to support them.

Sure. It’s just the same as if Mitchell stubbed his toe. It’s not the #1 recruit ending the season before it started.

Ok, so if I'm hearing you right, I'd should be saying "Wooohoooo!!!! MPJ blew his back out!!! Thrilled by the fact that he'll at least be back by the time of the draft!!!"

I don't get the logic of saying people can't be disappointed with a star in the making getting hurt, both for him and for the team. Doesn't mean the team won't be better than the last 3 years. I'm pretty damn sure they will be. I also think they'll be a lot better come January than they are right now. If you think that makes me a nega-Tiger then I will say (with a smile on my face and the happiest of voices) frick your pretentious arse.
