@JeremyWoo
Worth noting from our latest mock: there’s a level of surprise around the league, but the latest word is that Jontay Porter may still remain at Missouri. Had been viewed for weeks as a lock to stay in the draft - situation is now less clear.

Seems like Porter coming back is a near lock.

Lets take a quick look:

G Giest
G Watson
F Puryear
F Porter
C Tilmon

First two off the bench, Santos and Smith.

Still time to pick up a GT who is capable of starting too.

Absolutely need someone who can handle the ball, even if they arent a scorer.

No Xavier Pinson in your lineup? It’s just him and Giest for the PG position this season. Hopefully he can handle the ball for us, but he is a true freshman. Will Giest be better? I guess we’ll find out. I don’t wanna see another game like the WVU game last year with this team. Giest made me want to pull my fricking hair out.

Also, we have another team with size.

Pinson will be used, but im hoping hes not in the top 8. This is unless he impresses that much.

Puryear won’t start if Jontay starts.
At this point Geist, Watson, Santos and Tilmon will start. If Jontay comes back he will start, if not Puryear will.

Looking at all the mock drafts they have Jontay going in the 1st round. I know a few people are predicting that he will be back, but don't tally their opinions as a lock just yet until he says that he(Jontay) is coming back.

My expectation is that Jontay stays in the draft. Rumors of him leaning toward coming back seem like draft posturing from Jontay’s camp.

My first thought also........................ But who wouldn't love it if he indeed came back

Posturing for what? Not trying to be a smart arse, trying to understand what benefit there is to floating that he's coming back.

Basically a game of chess. With strength and conditioning being the things Jontay needs to focus on improving, it’s almost inevitable that he gets drafted substantially higher the next season. This would mean a team that could have landed Jontay at the end of the 1st round this year, will likely miss out on the getting him as a steal this year. They are essentially going to allow him to play his way out of reach.

“Jontay Porter had been scheduled to participate in this workout, but he’s not on the list now. He was recently on a Mizzou student athlete retreat. Tomorrow is the NCAA deadline to withdraw from the NBA Draft.”

Student athlete retreat??? Sounds promising to me. Time will tell though.

ESPN had MPJ at 15 in their mock draft?

I don’t believe it unless his back really is more problematic than we have heard.

Doctors have more of a say on where MPJ gets picked than any of the other picks in this draft.

Their reasoning was more around his team chemistry and fit. They said there is concerns around his passing ability and how the ball tends to stick with him once he receives it.

From the little we saw of MPJ last year he looks like a Kobe Bryant, shoot 40 times a game
