Good luck to those guys.

Have there been any UDFA's from Mizzou that went on to have solid careers? Just curious and don't know.

If not, hopefully one of these guys do.

Depends on what you define as solid.

Marcus Lucas has had a good career after going undrafted. He isn't going to be in the HOF but teams keep paying him to put on their jersey.

Sean Culkin is entering his 3rd year in the league after going undrafted.

Jacquies Smith carved out a 9 year NFL career after signing a UDFA deal with the Dolphins.

Yeah, how could I forget him. Don't know why I thought he was a late round pick. The other guys too. By solid, I just meant they actually made a career in the league. Not even All Pro but just good enough to stay on a roster for more than a year or two.

Doesn't look like Lucas has been more than a practice squad player. Not what I meant by "solid".

Culking hopefully will.

Had really hoped Smith would make it. He had that one really good decent year but then the injury bug got him and he really hasn't played since I don't think.

Never said it wasn't good money for a kid but that just wasn't what I was getting at by "solid" career.

Lucas has been a full season practice squad member the last 5 years. Assuming he is making just the minimum weekly salary for a practice squad member, he has made over $600K since leaving school with a bachelors. OTA and training camp per diem pushes him closer to $650K.

He has been paid to get a PhD in football when you factor in the number of systems a squad player is exposed to and the connections he has made. If he ends up as a position coach in the league he will be making $350K a year. Solid investment of his time IMO.
