Toelken had a great outing but a couple of freshmen caught my eye. Ian Bedell has excellent command and I like Mark Vierling's plate approach.

You watch the games? I didn't know they were televised. Would have watched. I don't know about Vierling's approach because I haven't been able to watch him but he is certainly earning his spot based on results.
Misner is solid. But Sharp, who was impressive 2 years ago and kind of disappeared last year has been killing it hitting .475. Trey Harris has been huge too coming back for his senior year.

If you're looking at the pitching, I'm still convinced that Sikkema has to break the weekend rotation. Despite Toelken's latest start against UMBC, neither him nor Plassmeyer instill a ton of confidence. I know Sikemma adds a lot of value coming out of the pen because he can either close or pitch extended innings, but I'd rather have the quality starts.

Just went and watched bits and pieces. Saw a couple of Vierling's AB's and Bedell's innings on the mound. Yeah, Bedell is impressive. 3 really effective pitches. Obviously not quite to the same level but the kid seemed to have a Wainwright (in his prime) type of curveball and a Wacha type of change up.
Did not realize he had re-classified like Jontay and just joined the team this semester. Kid was about to be an upper round draft pick too.

I get Fox Sports Midwest on Hulu Live. It’s Hulu plus live streaming channels. It’s a little more than Sling, but you get Hulu with it as well.
