Well, I guess we can add another game to the "almost" narrative. You could now say that we were 18 points (actually 22 points technically) from being 8-1 with one of those opponents being the top team in the country.

Normally if I was looking at another team in this situation I might say they are knocking on the door. Just about to turn the corner.

Somehow, I don't feel this way about MU. It feels to me that this is a team that just doesn't know how to win. I've got my steel cup on in anticipation of some nightmare scenario again where we drop a winnable game against ARKY along with a bowl bid.

I really hope I am wrong but the offense certainly isn't going to take us anywhere this year and IF the offense can improve next year will the D still be stout?

So which is it? Are we poised for a break out 2023?

Lane Kiffin said recently you can make a team or break a team in one year due to the transfer portal. Everyone every year is a free agent now and there is no salary cap due to nil. I wonder how much longer College Football will be worth watching sometimes. It all depends on if what little parity we had prior to nil and portal are gone now.

We could get over the hump but so can everyone else. For some teams it doesn't take much.

Brian Kelly got the QB Jayden Daniels in the portal last year and that was a big get. Without Daniels Kelly could have a record similar to Jimbo at A&M and all those LSU fans would be gnawing his butt right now instead of naming their kids after him.

We're way too young and inexperienced on offense, which is on drink. I fully expect him to make big changes, and do a 180 like he did with the defense.

Fixed it. Yes, I'm lower than a snakes belly in the bottom of a wagon rut.
