I have never seen Estes play, but what I have read It doesn't seem all bad.
He is a really good athlete with a strong throwing arm.
He has not been recruited by P5, but his 247 composite numbers are better than Russell Wilson (Estes is taller) coming out of high school.
Does Mizzou have a good Dual Threat QB on the roster? If it doesn't work out he can transfer or he can switch positions.
Signing him also keeps Mizzou in good with East St. Louis. It doesn't matter if Thomas signs with Mizzou there will be other great athletes from ESL in the future.

Zanders had 7 P5 offers. GTech was the only other school to offer him as a QB. Had he went to HS anywhere other than in Duval County, MU wouldn't have offered him at all.

ESL produces more P5 recruits than any school closer to Mizzou. If we have to sign a few that may not see much time so be it.
We have Beckner, Simms, Taylor, and Strong on our roster now. If Beckner could stay healthy he would be a beast. If Taylor and Strong could have made the grades they would be solid contributors. Simms could have the ability to be a really good OL. He played in all 12 games as true freshman.
If Thomas and Estes both sign we would have 6 from 1 school.

For the class of 2018 I'm sure we will offer WR Brown from CBC to try and lure WR Babb from CBC.
