We've got three straight weeks of teams that aren't particularly good on offense and this allows us a bit of time to figure out some things that will work while still being able to win with the defense. Not that we will win, but our next 3 games are all winnable as currently constructed. Those 3 teams are 10,11,12 in total offense for SEC teams. (We are last)

Then we head to Athens. We can't beat them being so one dimensional. However, if we are able to piece some things together on offense by then who knows.

After that we have Vandy, BYU, MSU and Arkansas. Which, again, is pretty manageable. Especially if we show some improvement on offense as the season wears on.

I know a lot of people are down on the team and it's understandable, but being so helpless on offense has kind of overshadowed just how good we've been on defense. The season we want to have is still within grasp and there are so many things on offense we can improve upon. It just comes down to if we do.

Yes, with mucho improvement. The pre-season is now over.

What do I know??? I predicted 10-2 and 2nd in the East. (Still possible). I predicted that the experienced OL would dominate. That the rush game would carry the young WR's. That is exactly why I don't bet.

I agree the schedule SHOULD be manageable. However, we have to score somewhere to win. The current version would not score on half of those teams.

I also agree the D has been great and while they'll continue to be good their raw numbers will get worse from here on out. Even UK is no Uconn on offense, meaning the offense is going to have to improve that much more. If we can get into the 20's each game on offense, we might have a shot.

I'd say there's a .05% chance at UGA but that hardly matters if they falter elsewhere

Games I am still confident we will win:
@kentucky
vs South Carolina
vs Florida (Homecoming)
@Vandy

Games I feel worse about:
BYU: They have hung with some of the best. Going to need a home game atmosphere.
Georgia: They have looked damn good.

Games I feel better about:
vs MSU - Not by much...but I'm pretty confident in the Thursday night.
@ Arky: talk about a step back. Just hope the fire continues to burn in this dumpster.
vs Tenn: Outside of the first half vs Oklahoma they haven't looked special to me. Still lots of issues.

I agree with you Jesus. That's why I haven't been doing a wholesale slashing of the wrists.

As much as it sucks to see the offense this inept there are several areas of the team to be optimistic about so I'd rather see the glass as half full than half empty for now. And if Pinkel thinks Drew Lock starting is better for the team, it'll happen.

What's really disappointing is Mauk had so much promise based on his performance as a redshirt freshman. But when you hear things like his family is still his major coaching influence it reveals a stubbornness or arrogance that's undermined his development.

In my mind it a done deal. It's baked in the cake. Lock's taking over for Mauk, it's just a matter of when.

I was ready to pack it in last year after the hoosier loss and we turned it around. I know Georgia looks great but we do nothing as predicted plus we play better on the road. We lose to scar and/or fl and beat uga and piss off finebaum and herbstreit for the 3rd straight year
