Just wait until you are old enough to be his "Grand" mama!

Semo,
Just finished reading your link and the thread. Not sure whether I should
or
Thinking I should probably buy full body armor. Besides shielding any blows from Miami fallout, I can use it when visiting shopping malls, theaters, schools, etc.

In all honestly, Mississippi River towns are notoriously rough. Old trashy families populate and never leave these enclaves. In time, they end up inbreeding with each other to create a creature much further down the pole than normal white trash. They create a creature known as river rats.
River rats are meth using, knife wielding, car window smashing sub-human creatures with occasional flashes of maniacal murderous rage.
Mark Twain hints at river rats in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. Although Mark Twain was clearly inspired by Hannibal, MO and the river as evident in his writings, he didn't love it remain there. He chose to leave that wretched place and never looked back.
There's a reason why Sam Clemens built a mansion in Connecticut and never returned. The Mississippi River provided him the source material to create some of the most colorful characters ever written, but also the inspiration to move away and never return.

A chastity belt Killz? Really?
And yes, river towns can be the way you described. Cape was a little different because of the University and its being a medical center. As the biggest town between St. Louis and Memphis, it just naturally developed a strong medical community. Between those two things, there was enough of an influx to keep things from getting stagnant.

Another KC bother here. Grew up a Royals fan. However they have certainly tested loyalties the past many years. But have stayed true.

I grew up in a very small town about 45 minutes east of KC and have lived in the Brookside area of KC (just south of the Plaza) for the past 20 years.
I am old enough to remember watching the Chiefs win the super bowl in 1970 and went to Game 7 of the 1985 World Series.....been pretty slim pickens' for the this lifetime Mizzou/Chiefs/Royals fan since then.
