Let’s be honest, Odom shouldn’t have needed the SEC’s direction on that. Freeze would’ve been as much of a reach as Dooley for completely different reasons.

Competition everyday. 1s on 1s, Iron sharpens Iron. That was the Don James way.

So now the picture comes into focus.

You would have thought with the tough guy / accountabilty persona Odom tried to project he would have been sharp enough continue on in the Pinkel mode.

Whoever said it (you I think), he did it to himself.

Too bad he had a chance to be a career coach here.

A lot of coaches have limited practice contact to try to avoid injuries. A lot of very successful ones might I add including Dabo.

It may be true but it's also true the offense turned baby shite soft while the defense didn't.

If the fans weren't so self-loathing, Mizzou could offer better contracts.

Does not make sense. It was a standard contract for an amount that was slightly above SEC average

I disagree. It's always the fans fault.

far as Clemson thug players - yeah, sure mate. Kelly Bryant hasn't done anything in his tenure at either college to warrant a statement like that.

Whatever mate.
Mrultiple reports of players not liking him, now reports of other playets girlfriend's. An onviously fractured offense. Not a class act. Not a leader. And not that good. Should have had his arse sat down by a coach with a spine and a clue midway through the Vandy game, never to be heard from again

Dabo not giving him a ring makes a whole lot more sense now.

Well, when your QB fricks your star TEs GF it tends to cause some locker room issues

Obviously, it's never just any one thing that causes an implosion like this, but my son said the OP's premise has floated around campus. For whatever it's worth (very little), he thinks it's true but doesn't think that alone explains the implosion. It was one of many symptoms, but not the cause.

I think to complete this thread, we need an IG handle for the GF.

It’s definitely true. I’ve got confirmation that I trust 100%.

To me, the timing of it and the subsequent collapse it’s VERY easy to place the blame for the offense falling off the face of the earth directly after the entire team found out about this. I know many of you think that Odom sucks, and it doesn’t even matter now, but had that not happened I very firmly believe we are heading into year 5 and probably feeling at least decent about it.

Now, I’m not saying that Odom doesn’t SHARE some blame here but this (which had nothing to do with him) put him in a nearly impossible situation trying to navigate that locker room. If it’s the long snapper and the 3rd string punter it’s probably not that big of a deal. If it’s the two biggest stars on the team...well, it is

I agree with you.

Read back the Austyn Carta Samuel’s tweet in context now.

And that’s why when Sterk said to the coaches, “What the frick happened?” No one could answer. Because you can’t say your $50M business fell apart because your hired gun QB came in and laid some pipe and an egg all at the same time.

JQ, every team has drama. We just never hear about it. Sometimes it's a girlfriend. Sometime's it's other shite. Where a head coach comes into play is in making sure that the bullshite that goes on in every day life doesn't so infect his locker room that you implode like this. For that reason, it falls as much or more on Odom than anyone else, even KB, AO and GF.

If Kleiza’s gf doesn’t fall in love with those lovely locks, maybe Quin is still our basketball coach.
