Pass blocking was better. Plenty of times Mauk sat and sat and sat and sat and couldn't find anyone. Probably a combination of Mauk not seeing the whole field and these WR's running poor routes as someone else said.

I would MUCH rather be worrying about offensive issues rather than defensive issues heading into conference play for whatever that is worth. This defense is pretty good folks.

Im not sure thats all on the QB buddy. This group of WR isnt very good.

Agreed. And whoever said above that more pulling or other angle blocking would better suit our line has a good point. I just think it's too late to start that kind of change from scratch. I would love to find out they have been holding that back through the ooc and they are actually proficient but have kept it a secret. I'm a dreamer.

The problem with watching on tv is you can't evaluate those guys as well. My guess is the young guys are not on the same page with qbs about what to do after that first 3 seconds.

I have only been to the UCONN game so far this year but I can assure you the WR were shite in that game. Just pure shite. I went fully expecting the WR core to be dancing around wide open waiting for Gary Pinkel to put Drew Lock into the game. Thats just not the case folks.
Have no idea how this season will play out but its much more complicated than "Put Lock in"

I agree with ya my friend. There isn't much on the offense that isn't a mess right now

Here's the thing about youth with talent: they can learn but you can't inject them with talent if they don't have it.
Also running routes is really an art form where the WR & QB have to be thinking exactly alike. Very few times will a WR run a route without deviations to it and THAT'S the missing link right now; they aren't deviating smartly but they'll learn.
The RB issue is another story. I'm just not impressed with Ish's ability to hit holes. Yes he was a little better against UConn but I'd like to see Morgan and Tyler get more touches....at least they HIT the hole with little to no dancing.

Most of the WR drops can only be blamed on themselves but I believe Mauk makes our WR also look worse than what they really are.
I have seen our WR create space and gain a step on slants, hitches, digs, and outs. What happens is Mauk doesn't hit his back step and deliver, he drops back and waits til he sees considerable separation which also gives an opportunity for the defense to correct themselves and the BOOM "OSKIE"...
That's why I was not down about Lock on that INT in the Arkansas State game. Richard had in side position he place the ball in his hands and the WR didn't make the play.
When we watched Chase the anticipation to our TE's coming off the line was impeccable. The way he went vertical to our WR's where ball placement got our receivers open because to the naked eye it look like a DB had a receiver covered when in reality a big play was coming.
Just look at the Bama/Ole Miss game where Kelly place the ball to the front pylon so Treadwell can go get it. Or when the score was 30-24 and it was plant and fire on 1st and 10 with press coverage on an inside slant. I think that's what Lock gives us and what is missing to help our WR's.

Mauk really doesn't use the middle of the field. That's one of his biggest issues. I'd love to see it charted, but I bet 90% of his throws go outside the hash marks. I don't know if he can't see or what, but I'd bet that is something opposing defenses say as well and adjust their coverage accordingly.

I think you are absolutely correct Jesus.
I read a tweet I believe by Brandon or maybe Pete where they charted his throws. Over 60% went to the left hash. You essentially only have to cover one side of the field.

All his INTs go to the right. So you at least need a center fielder over there.

HCGP, Henson and Ricker are not doing their jobs. IF I was to boo anyone, it would be the coaches and not the players. They recruited/trained these athletes.
thank you,, I'm kinda tired of all the hypocrisy around here...
oh you know what I'm talking about..
"diamonds in the rough".. "stars don't matter!"... "ratings services are a joke!"
then.. one bad game later..
"stupid players suck!"
