Can't imagine coaches use the fall in a position change. Kind of wastes the whole spring & summer prep/development for the player.

Now that HB is out, desperate teams do desperate things.

Sorry, I should have explained my thinking...Hatley plays both DT and DE. I was thinking he stays primarily at DT now, Beisel has good size, strength and could get a look at DE. He has some game experience as the backup MLB and Special Teams. Just a thought, I'm sure Odom has it figured out.

I'm calling you out as mubobby's alter. From mubobby on TB:

The prognosis on Brantley isn't known yet. Some remain optimistic that he may play at some point, but that looks like a pipe dream to me.

Plan won't deviate much. Odom has 3-4 packages and was planning on using them some anyway. I'm told to expect a bit more. DE depth is not where it needs to be at this point. Hatley, Augusta and Beckner along the line. Scherer and Brothers in the middle. The rush LBs are where this becomes interesting. Harris, Frazier (if he makes it here) and Newsome are leading candidates. Don't be surprised to see Biesel get some snaps in that role either. I Also know that Agbasimere is on the radar for this role. He has a long way to go to develop his overall game, however he has rare speed and burst. Might be able to put him in on passing downs and just let him get after the QB. It's a thought that is being kicked around now that really wasn't before HB went down.

Also looking at some heavy personnel packages for short yardage that includes Hatley and Beckner at DE in a 4 man front. Loud was the biggest DE on the team, and with him gone all of our DEs (excepting Brady) are on the lighter side.

Coaches remain confident they can make this work, but it's caused some shuffling of what they were planning to do.

Really can't afford any injuries along the line at this point.

Interesting thoughts on so many different levels. 3-4. Beisel. TBJ. Agbamisere.

Also sounds like there's some concern getting Frazier here.

What are you hearing? I thought I had seen he was on campus already but not 100% certain on that. He is someone I think could be very solid this season for us

We're not even remotely desperate

I'm not hearing anything. It's the fact that mubobby felt the need to add a parenthesis after mentioning Frazier (if he makes it).

I don't think its neccesarily a concern he won't make it, but he's not here until he's here.

Same with all the JUCOs and we need all of them. We desperately need Frazier.
