As long as we're dealing in speculation and what type of person people are..
We know for a fact Dave Matter is a 'no balls' kinda guy, which is fine, he's harmless, like a dog who's given up on life, just kind of contently putzing around, spending most of his day with his chin on the floor.
Dave isn't the type to say that unless he heard it all over the place in respected circles.
I just binged Night Of.. so I mean, I'm pretty sharp on the detective and legal shite right now. I think he done it.

Well. I've had a migraine today, and slept too much. So it's 1am and I'm still awake. If this is the truth, there should be proof to be found. And Mizzou should go after Kul. Contract violations and theft of intellectual property. They should ruin him.
This is also making me rethink the new defensive philosophy in a different light. Still don't like it.

We are still just speculating. The only place I find this rumor is on this board and Matter. It reminds me of the coaching search where there were rumors we all accepted as fact that where only on this board and Matter. He has reported rumors b4 that turned out to have no basis in fact. This board does have the tendency to form iron clad conclusions based on very very little (which is why we go ape shite during coaching searches).

No way it happened. Had he dome that, the other schools would have reported it. First of all, Mizzou does not threaten SEC teams enough that they need the info. Its not worth the investigation.
Second its useless with a new defensive staff coming in. So again its not worth the investigation.
One of the big programs would have reported it, if only to point out what a shite show is going on at Mizzou.

I'm a little confused. Wasn't there enough tape for opposing coaches to know exactly what we run and our tendencies for when to run it? It sure didn't help them much. So just because they would have it in writing it wouldn't help them stop a scheme that clearly worked would it? I don't understand changing it. Sure change your terminology to be safe, but I wouldn't think it's enough to make you abandon your defensive philosophy.

2 East Division titles does not instill fear in Bama, LSU, UGA or Florida. Were not some annual powerhouse that Bluebloods need some kind of undercover advantage.
BO is not running the same defense at all. Already the DL has a completely different scheme than last year. They are doing Read and React. So all of Kul's schemes are useless.
Of course other programs would want to embarrass Mizzou. Especially with the good 2018 recruits in state. Making us look bad helps them come in take those recruits, especially a program like Arkansas.

This is now a watered down debate.
It turns something we know -- Matter reporting that the rumor isn't just a fan board rumor, that it has circulated in respected and legitimate places -- into a denial case simply because we don't put fear in other teams??
All of Kul's schemes are useless? The issue isn't Kul's schemes. The issue would be the entire defensive schemes. And of course the real issue would be more about honor and ethics.

It would look stupid and embarrass them to tattle. Nonsense like this happens behind the scenes. It usually remains behind the scenes. Teams don't tattle on other teams for this and that.

In actuality, Matter is a respected journalist, there's value and reason to listen when goes out on a limb and says something like that.
It's certainly more valuable than people writing it off by saying we're not feared, or other teams would surely elect to embarrass us by making it public.

A scheme that worked at an elite level was dismantled and completely reworked.
No coach is dumb enough to do that, much less a defensive minded one, unless his hand was forced.
Maybe this why the first DL coach left so abruptly. He didn't realize he was going to be tasked with implementing a new scheme.
I tend to believe this happened, and there's nothing that can or will be done about it.
