Good series Royals fans. I follow the Royals so no one had to preach to me about how good your squad is at this point.

Solid win for Royals in game 1
Solid win for the weatherman in game 2
Solid win for Cards in game 3

About what I expected. Two good teams. Cream of the crop from both leagues. Wish I could have played in this thread more but the holiday weekend has thrown me some curveballs so far. Sometimes I wonder if holidays wear me out more than just normal times of the year.

Drove down this morning.Rained most of the trip.Met friend at Legends.Dave And Buster's not open yet, so we had lunch at Granite City.Light rain for half of game then stopped.Sat in section 418.Ventura was good after 1st inning.Luckily, Wacha was better.About time Adams wakes up at the plate.Escobar almost made incredible bare handed catch on Molina flare.Carpenter homers yet again.Been best player on team.It was a good win.Went to team store while parking lot thinned out.Friend bought game used spring training St. Patrick's Day jersey and Moore signed book.More damn rain on drive back home.Had fun though.

Friend said someone close to Glass built the new soccer stadium at Legends. Is that true.Biggest advantage for Royals is Gordon can stay close to home.

I listened to 810 on my way down.Good Royals show with interview with former Royal McRae.610 had some national show with nothing but boring NBA talk.Fescoe became insufferable when he often ripped on Pinkel for not winning enough big games, but always gave a free pass to Kansas's shitty coaches.I got sick of his Kansas bias. The Danny Parkins, Josh Vernier, Carrington Harrison, Jay Binkley shows were good at times, although they sometimes talk about stuff that has nothing to do with sports that bores me.I should gave given The Border Patrol more of a chance. They rarely had any good takes when I listened.

That's awesome. Glad it was a good time. I was sitting there and told my wife that if it wasn't for the light rain, it would have got desperately humid. You could feel between rains the humidity rise then fall when the rain started again. It kind of kept things cooled down.

From our vantage point, Esky should have used his glove or at least tried. I was a little pissed when he tried to bare hand that ball. Extremely difficult because you know how much spin was on that ball.

Don't be modest about the cards hitting ability. They rang up a good pitcher yesterday. He wasn't good in the first inning but Ventura is a good pitcher. The Cards hitters were just better yesterday. They did what they had to do to secure a win.

Gordo on the other hand missed a golden opportunity with bases loaded and two outs. Royals have been money this year with RISP and two outs. Wacha made the pitches when he had to. So far this year, when kept down by good pitching, the Royals have come back and evened it out next time around. Hopefuly we'll see him again in St. louis.

Ok. Between 1 and 10, 1 being best and 10 worse, how would you rank the visit to Kauffman exluding the weather? Just curious. They wanted to build a new stadium downtown years ago and it fell through. I was kind of biased at the time and wanted to keep our old stadium location because it's easy in easy out and because of memories. Now I seem to be more open to the idea because of the Sprint Center location. It right across from the P&L district.

I wouldn't have a problem with a downtown stadium, although parking and traffic would be an absolute nightmare, especially with big crowds.

If they could somehow disassemble the K and move it to the downtown location that would be awesome. Far too many good memories inside those walls to see it fade away.

It would be a nightmare traffic wise. I would love to see it come back up for consideration. Unfortunately, with the upgrades done to the current stadium, I don't think it will come back around for a long time unless we get new owners that demand a new stadium. It would be cool though. If they did it, I'd like to see them go old school style. The current landscaping around Kauffman could use some help.

I've been to Kaufman Stadium before when it was hot as frick, so the weather could have been a lot worse.Good point about Escobar. He has a great glove though.Average with RISP is one of the more important stats in my opinion.Cardinals were great at that 2 years ago.Wacha has been best starter for Cardinals.

I would rate your stadium a 7.Our view in upper deck was good.Seat/leg space was a little tight.I really like the fountains in the OF.I haven't toured them, but the newer bars and team HOF are nice additions. The horror stories I heard about the consessions made me not want to buy any lunch there. All the parking is nice, can take a long time to leave after game.Really no restaurants close by to eat at before game.Feels a little isolated in huge parking lot. There are a lot worse stadiums that exist. When I lived there someone wanted to build some rolling roof over both stadiums so KC could get a Super Bowl.I like Power And Light district, but would be tough to build a new stadium.Parking would be difficult. With all the new upgrades I don't see a new stadium being built.

Teams play again in a few weeks.I saw Guthrie give up 11 runs in 1 inning today.Yikes.Will Moore go get an ace starter?

There are a couple high end starters rumored to go on the trading blocks. I could see Dayton going after one if the price is right. One only involves a pitcher in trade for 3 or 4 prospects.

Cueto from the Reds interests me the most and I think more realistically attainable because he's the One involving prospects. We have a few if Dayton is willing to trade them.

I think he will have to address the starting rotation at some point this year if he wants to go back to the post season. Cueto would be a great addittion and may resurge the starters. Competition among pitchers always helps.

Ate the jumbo dog with mustard, jalapenos and diced onions. I figure that combo should kill anything crawling around on there. Joking.

We had Aramark at work for years, and they flat suck. Sorry to anyone out there who works for them, just speaking the truth. We hit the popcorn, nachos. The jumbo dogs seem better. I remember as a kid, they used to have great dogs out there. Regularz "Ballpark" dogs.

I'm one of those throw back fans who dislikes any roof over playing fields. Football also. To me thats not a stadium anymore but an arena. Arenas are for horse and dog shows. Sports were meant to be played in the elements. It's part of the game and strategy. I'm glad we don't have a roof of any kind.

Now I've been to your dome for motocross. It's nice. But I just wouldn't want to watch a football game in there. Just me.

7 is a good score really. Considering the age of the complex.

Who are your good prospects you have for trade? The ones I used to know made the team or traded?I think the Cardinals need a rotation upgrade to win a World Series.I would be surprised if Cueto wasn't moved before trade deadline.

We went to a game there last year before the article and pictures of the concessions were documented.I got some of the chili tots, they were good.No complaints. But after reading the article and seeing the pictures I couldn't pull the trigger this time.Heard something else bad this year about the hot dogs too.

I like open stadiums better too, but some cities want the roof for other events. Some cities on the coast that get a lot of rain need a roof for MLB.I went to a Chiefs game years ago in December when it was cold and rained most of the game.I like the elements too.Yeah, the Rams dome has taken a beating from fans, but if the team was better I doubt that many would care about it.I went to games when they were good and no one complained about the "gameday experience".How long is the Royals lease for Kaufman Stadium? At least you don't play in a dump like Athletics.

I'm not sure how long the lease is. I'm sure if there was a strong enough interest in a new stadium, they would figure thier way around the lease. I believe it's county ran. As long as it stayed in this county that is.

Jafo, do you think the attendance which is still low (BUT MUCH IMPROVED) has to do with the stadium being kinda out from the highly populated areas, or is it something else.

It is in a highly populated area. It's not located conveniently close to other businesses. I think when they built those stadiums, it was basically on the outskirts of the population or in between. KC, Independence, Raytown, Lee's Summit, Liberty, on the Missouri side all run into each other now.

As far as why it's in it's present location, it was built about the same time I was born. I'm sure it had to do more with land acquisition than population. I'm sure there were other factors.leading into this also. As was mentioned in another post, the original plans was to have a rolling roof for both stadiums. So having both stadiums in the same location was impoimportant. I don't know if they had the space for that if built downtown. KC was also a dead downtown the whole time I was growing up. Hardly anyone lived "downtown". Now that a lot of buildings are being turned into loft apartments, many people are starting to move back downtown. They even have a grocery store downtown now. If they moved at least the ballpark back downtown, it would be a major financial boost to downtown.

Speaking of attendance, did anyone see Spankee stadium yesterday? It was empty. Never thought I'd see it that empty for a 6pm game.

I went to the rain game. It was fun. The Royals won. I got drunk. Then I got wet. Then I continued drinking. Then I went home and tried to order a pizza. Then I realized that the fvcking Pizza Hut closest to my house doesn't deliver to my zip code. Then I got mad. Then a friend ordered from his phone so I could calm down. Then I ate pizza.

It was great to see how filthy Garcia can be when he stays off the DL.Starters have been pitching much deeper in games the last 3 weeks.Thank you Rios for messing up the fly ball in the 8th.
