While living with a bunch of them in college I started rooting for whoever they were playing due to how awful the fans were
I will say: in high school I thought the Cards were pretty cool cuz they were in Missouri, but as soon as I went to Mizzou it was like an immediate slap in the face. I quickly did the same thing as you. I've never been belittled so much over a baseball team I choose to support. A definite wake-up call

Forgot other BBQ joints I've been to:
Oklahoma Joe's
Arthur Bryant's (When you're drunk)
The Smoke House (also when you're drunk)

I can assure you that as someone who is neither a kU fan or cardinals fan, the similarities between ku basketball fans and cardinal baseball fans is shocking. Call it jealousy or penis-envy or whatever you would like, but to those without a vested interest in cardinals or ku, your fans are mirror images of each other.
Take it back you closet redlegger.
KC is a fine city, I visit whenever I can.
No one that lives, or has lived in STL ever gives KC or their teams a second thought. I do get the feeling, based on friends that have moved to KC, that the feeling is not mutual.
That being said, I really don't care either way. I have friends in both cities.
TigerNick is an annoying altar, and I'm sorry you missed all the blatant sarcasm/Jimmie rustling in my posts. I'm convinced he's another incarnation of MS2. It's just a matter of time before a post full of emoticons shows up to out him.
Hell, I don't even live in Missouri. I find the constant back and forth about the two cities fascinating though.

Don't have to be drunk to dig on some Arthur Bryant's - that right there is proof that God loves us.

The BBQ itself is good, but their sauces aren't very good

Y'all love to pretend it's a KC thing, but it's not. People from across the nation poke fun at STL for their self-proclaimed "BFIB" and "we play the game the right way" holier than thou attitude.
The majority of that is perpetuated by things like deadspin, and people buy into.
It's a shame because the Cards fan base is the heartland, it's the area of this country that is known for having the most down to earth and friendly people. Yet as baseball fans they're arrogant assholes?
The reputation of Cardinal fans is inverted, it's literally the opposite of what it should be. A few incidents have been spun and played on in the media and all of a sudden a reputation is born.
Busch Stadium is the only place, not only in MLB but in any pro sport, that will cheer an opposing player on a regular basis. Yet the fan base is thought of as arrogant and self absorbed. Think about that for a second.
I agree, and I'm critical of Cards fans for wanting to hear they're the BFIB a little too much. But it's more earned than this negative reputation that has been thrust on us by jealous foes.
I was living in WI when the Brewers were decent, those fans were new money cocky and they were envious of the Cards old money.
I heard 'holier than thou' all the time. Now that they're bad again those friends tell me the hate was driven by envy. Deep down they wished their team was like the Cards, with the high standards and history of winning.

Disagree. Stl people are weird and preoccupied on where someone went to high school. Never met a group of people so focused on maintaining a certain appearance. Not saying they're bad people, a lot of my best friends are from there. But, yeah, they're weird.

You quoted a sentence about how the Cardinals fan base is the heartland, meaning it's far more than St. Louis, and your reply was a direct attack on St. Louis.
Can you see what that doesn't make sense?
And your assessment of the high school question is off base. I'll say it's less about status and being snobbish than it is just an easy way to know some baseline info about a person.
Unlike other large cities St. Louis is filled with natives. Asking where someone went to high school triggers an assortment of follow up questions, there's a good chance you know someone that went to that hs and now you have a friend in common ect
The question has a lot more relevance when such a majority of the residents grew up here.
In Chicago they're going to ask where you're from or where you went to college, but in St. Louis why ask that when you're most likely talking to a fellow St. Louisan.

The only time I think about the Royals or Chiefs is when I drive past their stadiums or they're on a channel I flip through.
