Sec is much easier than Pac,

I see this a lot, don't think it's true. The PAC does have 3 very good teams this year, but the bottom of the conference is worse than the bottom of the PAC. Cal is a hard place to recruit to.

Agreed. Here's hoping Illinois lands him before we do.

As you said.. There are better options out there.

But he's cheap, and he's "a name"

LMFAO there have been many names floated around. You commented on most.

Drew, Mussleman, keatts, etc etc.

What has Martin accomplished?

When has he NOT cried about fan support?

When has he stayed somewhere more then 3 years?

He's the hire you land when all the big guns say no. lol

Martin's 3 years at MSU isn't much different than what Keatts and Musselman have done the last couple of years. He has proven since then that he can recruit and coach against P6 competition.
His style isn't my favorite. To me it's interesting that his MSU teams were very offensive oriented, but since he's moved up to a P6 job he has changed to being great defensively.

If we are looking to make the NIT, and maybe the NCAA once in awhile......... He's our man.

He's had 1 sub 10 loss season, and that was at MSU

Like I said, average history,he's a name, and he'd come cheap.

I dont see Drew as a possibility, and Martin was also a successful mid major coach at one point just like Musselman and Keatts.

Guys at mid majors always have the appeal of not failing at a big school....yet.

This year was the only year that Martin has not improved his win total from the previous year. He still won 21 games. He'd be better here, has alot better access to recruits at Mizzou than Cal.

Hes had to rebuild at every stop hes been at and did a very good job doing it. Had UT into the sweet 16 by yr 3, and Cal into the tournament by year 2.

Mussleman was also an NBA coach, and has come up the hard way.

Drew, Crean, Mussleman, Davis.

We get one of those I would be very happy.

I guess you could throw in Marshall for shits and giggles

Micheal Porter Jr. Has NOT signed a LOI to play for UW. Just a financial aid agreement. He can get out of that by not showing up for classes there. He is not 100% to UW. They miss COMO and he very well could come back and play for MU. With his sister still in COMO they are not big on the seperation. If Romar stays, they could still come back to COMO. If Romar is fired they will probably leave. This makes the coaching hire so much bigger. The porters do like C.Martin

Id be fine with any of those guys.

Drew and Crean look to not be available though.

Martin, Im more comfortable with than getting a mid major guy and hoping he can recruit at the level we need. I know Martin can.

Would you be worried if they hired Sunvold?

I wonder who is really going to make this hire Sterk or the boosters and alumni? They were probably behind the Anderson hire.
