And the most tragic part, IMO, is their 2.5 month baby who is now an orphan. What a horrible act.

Hope the Chief's organization might set up some kind of fund for the child. Surely Belcher would have had some insurance to protect his family, but it won't pay in case of suicide.

She was a 22 year old unmarried mother. I tend to doubt she had a life insurance policy. If she was employed, may have some sort of coverage through group policy. That type is usually only enough to cover burial expense.
Tragic for all those left behind in both his and her family.
