i couldn't help it
serious question has anything been said about him punting down 3 possessions and on the evans td that was over turned him kicking a extra point instead of going for 2. I thought it was a odd choice considering being down 3 scores and the 2 point conversion cutting it to two scores.
I honestly give a&m the best chance of any team in the country to score 3 for 3 on two point conversions because of jff being able to escape.

If you watch the LSU outside pass rush you will see the 2 outside guys deliberately slow up and stay just in front of or even with JFF and keep him in the pocket. That worked well but Johnny didn't take the open check down he was trying to hit the hhomerun way to much. Not trying to take away from what LSU did but it was a combination of things that shut us down. Some was on LSU and some was on us. Their big physical dbs played just ad big a role as the dline. Their ability to play straight up man left a lb or 2 always free to be in the middle of the field where the slowed down disciplined de play forced Johnny to scramble to. All and all great job by Chavis and great execution by the players. Our play calling and Johnny ttrying to get it all in one play didn't help one bit.
Good Luck lets pray it's injury free and have us a good ballgame

I'll give you a pass this time
As for the decision making in the game I don't know what to think, but all in all that is really his only bad game so he gets a pass to. shite happens as long as it isn't a regular thing I will give him a bad one now and then

I had been screaming for us to play straight up man all year. I honestly believe with the athletes we have its insane to try and play mostly zone. We do our best work when we are manning people up. White and Robinson weren't trusted early. The rant will disagree with me but had we thrown Robinson into the fire vs uga and ole miss we likely win those games. Even with having to wait until two weeks before the season before being with the team Robinson was physically ready to go. He didn't even need to be as good as he was saturday if he played in the earlier games, anything he does is better than the jalens and loston trying to play zone.
I think jff started pressing once he realized that our offense was going to take 6 minute plus each time we had the ball. We had a ton of long play and long time consuming drives and with each one piling up it put more and more pressure on JFF to live up to his numbers and he couldn't do it.

i don't believe we got a sack from the blitz
Yep, and thats my point. You don't have to necessarily sack him or even hit him. Get close and get in his head. Let him know he doesn't have all day. Like you mentioned, containment from rollong out is probably key. JFF seems to be more dangerous and effective when he rolls out sideline to sideline. Also sliding up the middle, but LSU had that covered so in effect, they made JFF one demensional. He had to beat LSU with his arm and not his legs and arm.
What was his rushing yardage for that game? It didn't seem he ran for many yards.

Exactly. That's why I'm hoping our DEs can just squeeze him, keep him trapped in the pocket. Make him throw, and have to throw quickly. Just work on collapsing the pocket around him and not letting him get loose.

The big difference is y'all aren't built like LSU. I'm not saying y'all can't get it done but it will be more difficult imo. LSU has the personnel in the secondary that was the big key for them. If y'all play zone we will have an easier path to moving the ball. Believe it or not we can run the ball I know I know you would never know it by our play calling but if we do run the ball it opens up the whole offense not just the Johnny show

also the a&m posters thinking their d did a good job vs our o in holding us to 34 are laughable. we had multiple 6 minute plus drives and we lost a few points on the board with our own dumb penalties which is a custom of les miles teams. Mizzou should be able to control the clock on a&m and do the same. I really believe we could have scored high 40s or 50s had we felt like it but doing that would have turned the game into a shootout because the d would have been on the field more.
I agree. Once you got up by a few scores it was clear running clock was as much of a goal as getting points. The D was shitty as usual, and it will be shitty vs Mizzou and vs whoever we play in our bowl game.
