Let's see here, we wanted Yost gone and we got that. Then we promote Henson (Yost in training) to OC.
He was hired to be a recruiting pipeline to the South. Got maybe 3 players from that area of the country. Was made associate line coach, not OL coach but an associate. I have no idea what any associate coach does.
Now he is the OC?!?!? Someone needs to tell me his qualifications because I do not see them.

I think there were more outside candidates in play than Chaney. Thats what I read into it. It took time going through the process. Also there is some silly bylaw with the University that they are required to have the job opening posted for 5 days prior to announcing any hires or something like that. I know, it's silly.

Hinshaw's name has been thrown around. But know one knows really. He seems to be a popular name out there.
Whats more a question is, will the QBC hire be a Pinkel hire or Henson hire?

Hinshaw has already been hired. Lets just get it over with and hire Tommy Saunders as our new WR coach. This is the most underwhelming decision I could've imagined.
Pinks you gone next year unless you win 8 regular season games in my opinion. EPIC FAIL!

Its Josh Henson.
I like this move. I think Henson could turn out to be a good OC. I think the biggest attribute he can offer is he has been part of a successful SEC team before and should know what it's going to take to win. He also from what I understand was the one who got Mizzou's running game back on track with different blocking schemes.

Just visited the PM site and found that it looks like Hill will be the new QB coach.

I will certainly give him his chance and hope he's successful, but just can't get excited about it.

I will go against the popular vote and disagree with the hire. I believe Missouri should have and could have done better, not rolled the dice with your fingers crossed hoping we have a hidden gem.

Of the scenarios listed, I'd be as excited about Hill as QBC and Tommy Saunders as WRC as anything. But we really need to get a SEC recruiter on staff.

Who? ARe you saying that they did not try and hire a bigger name because the facts emerging dispute that opinion.

I get that, and I am not questioning he adds some value to the staff. But his he really worth that much? Is anybody on our staff worth that much?

Maybe he'll fix the snap issues.
Oh, wait. Nevermind.

I remember what this program used to look like before Hc Gp came in leaps better. Last couple of years aside has done very well with Mizzou football

If Henson is to be OC, I can't get excited bc I wasn't rooting for the hire to come from inside the program, but I'm willing to give him a shot bc I still (somewhat) trust GP--although my trust is waning. However, if Hill is to be QB coach, what in the world does he know a about coaching QBs?! He was a receiver and has been a receiver's coach. Why in the world didn't we KEEP him as our receiver coach and go out and get a QB coach with experience as a QB COACH?! (I realize Hill hasn't been announced as the QB coach--yet)

I never stated they didn't try. I said I believe they should/could have done better. Only my opinion, no data or research.

Pretty much even if Hill moves to QBs, it still means we have a spot to fill. This next move HAS to be a top recruiter. Even GAbe DeArmond who has been defending Pinkel has stated, "If this isnt a guy that gets you connections into SEC territory or a really good recruiter it is time to be seriously concerned."
Its your move Gary.
