Amen to that. Being one of Nike's test schools means we get to test out their new prototypes before other schools. I really think this was a noticeable help when Pinkel got here. I think it was during Brad Smith's freshman or sophomore years, we got to suit up with nike's smaller and ultra light pads and cleats. It looked weird seeing us so much smaller than other teams on the field but we did appear to have a mild quickness edge.

Oh its always been "douche". I was trying to be tactful in my first response.

You're a bag and always have been around here.

Yup. Always will be, too. Every fan should be a homer for their school. That is what being a fan is.

I'll agree that this uniform change has been a little weird for me, but I'm in my 30s, so I've got a few decades of seeing the other uniforms.

That being said, when the last generation of uniforms came out there were a little "futuristic" with the black/gold torso stripes and the half stripes on the sleeves. Now, they're considered normal.

I'd prefer they stuck with the old gold, but Mizzou's colors are pretty difficult to wear out and about and still look nice as it is. I'm not much for black shirts, but a dijon brown/gold one isn't too much better. At least with a standard "gold"/yellow most people can match if they're wearing Mizzou t shirts or polos.

Being a traditionalist is good, of all my favorite teams Mizzou is the only one that's changed uniforms drastically/logos in my lifetime. I think that's exciting, but it takes a little getting used to. That doesn't make it bad.

That being said, Oval Tigerhead Guy has been around for ten years and is probably sticking around for another twenty years at least, so it anything...there's the tradition. I'd be willing to bet if they put the tigerhead on the helmets back when they first announced/revealed the new logo there wouldn't be much of an issue with the change today. Everyone almost universally loved the new tigerhead logo and if he went the helmets then people would have loved the new helmets too.

The uniforms themselves aren't bad, I just think there's too much change going on at once. If anything, I wish they'd have gone more crazy with the uniforms. I like the whole uniform kit, I just don't dig the helmets.

Plus, it's hard to talk too much about tradition when Mizzou just bolted its conference of over a century to go to the SEC.

Way to show how big a fan you are by telling another long time fan to find another team because they don't like a uniform change.

Brilliant.

Maybe you just didn't read. Putting the school first means putting a fan dissing the school 2nd. I'm gonna be consistent.

Right, douche, idiot, etc. Not name calling at all....It is OK. I'm a big boy. You won't hurt my feelings. But man up and own your posts if you are going to post it. Hiding behind emoticons doesn't really get anything done for you.

Not to mention I didn't tell anyone to do anything. You might read through the posts again. I suggested some options, though, if someone wasn't happy being a Mizzou fan.

You ARE acting like a douche to reedus.

You ARE a moron for believing your blanket statement that one cant criticize the school in your eyes and that entitles you to treat other fans like shite.

Im not hiding behind anything. I have been very clear. You are what your words say you are here.

Stop being a douche and a moron.

You can criticize the school on logical matters all you want. That is not the same as dissing.

Criticizing a school for changing a tradition it didn't have in the first place is not one of those items. And if it upsets such people that a school with no tradition abandons their traditions, maybe they need to find something that doesn't upset them. Sports are about enjoyment and entertainment, not reasons to complain needlessly. Maybe logic and reasoning is too much for you. If so, maybe you should find another thread.

My words indicate I'm a rational, logical person who doesn't resort to name calling to make a point. What do your words say about you?

There is nothing logical what so ever about telling a long time fan to find another team to root for because they dislike a uniform change for whatever reason. It wasnt meant as a suggestion to reedus, it was meant as a shot at that poster. When you start down that path of taking shots at others because you don't like their opinions you dont get to come back and play the "victim" when called for your nonsense.

I, obviously, care less what you think of me but the attempt to hide behind cries of "logic"or my implied inability to think logically, as an ad hominem, to defend yourself is laughable.

I really don't see what someone's preference on block "M" versus oval tiger head or whether silver is a traditional Mizzou color has to do with their being a fan. If being a homer means wearing blinders as a fan or drinking the kool aid at all times, then you're probably right. Personally, I don't think anyone is any less of a fan for questioning or wondering what would be best for the university. Hell, this argument is so stupid because I even acknowledged that the uniform changes are probably in the best interest of the team even if it's not my favorite.

Where did I diss the school in the first place? Said the helmets may very well look cool and said it's creating buzz with recruits so it's a good thing, even if I don't prefer them. That doesn't even mean I don't like them. I may very well like them, but simply like the others more.

kilo, something about me rubs notsince the wrong way and that's cool. It's not the first time and probably not the last that he's made that clear and he's certainly not the first or last person I have rubbed the wrong way. I'm not going to lose any sleep over it and I know you won't, but no need to drag yourself through this stupid shite. Let him tell me to find another team to root for and that's fine. Life goes on.

Meh, he is a passive aggressive type that takes shots at others as well. He has tried to stir up the STL/KC thing a time or two to boot.

What about saying I prefer the block "M" or old gold or no silver on the helmets is illogical? What about saying the program is undergoing a makeover is illogical?(hell, I think the AD itself has said they're re-branding the program). What about saying the current uniforms etc. are not the same as what I grew up with is illogical? And I sure as hell don't see it as dissing the school or team. If you can point to exactly where I dissed the team and not simply stated my preference or critiqued some action, I'll gladly take it back because it certainly wasn't intended that way.

Where did I say it upsets me? If I did, maybe I misspoke. I thought I even said the changes are cool, I just prefer what I grew up with.

BTW, I think saying Mizzou has no tradition is dissing the school but I won't be a douche to you and point that out.
