NCAA/Haith is getting interesting now

If anyone has been paying attention in the last hour.
Mark Emmert has now said it might be two weeks or more for Haith to receive his notice. IF they are able to give him a notice.
What I have seen through twitter is that the NCAA investigators were paying Shapiro's lawyer for information in the Miami case. Which is apparently wrong. If the investigators used any of this paid for info, the NCAA will not be able to use it in the allegations. Emmert says this info that was obtained illegally was only a small portion of the overall info.
I guess Haith still has a small chance to walk away from this.

Sounds like Shapiro is a complete scumbag and the NCAA is right there in bed with him.

After hearing this crap come out today you've got to think about the leaked story I posted on Monday.
Was this new information about investigators known before the leak came out on Monday? Did they leak the information to smear Haith because they know he is guilty but can't properly accuse him because the investigators paid Shapiro's lawyer for info? Why was the only information leaked to CBS's Goodman about Haith? When this investigation started it was almost all about Miami football. Why just leak this Haith info?
Just something to think about.

This is exactly what I'm thinking.
They smeared him, and the way things are today he may never live it down even if he isn't formally accused or found guilty.
This whole think reeks of some BS.

From what I've read, Haith has his own lawyers and it sounded like he's ready to sue the persons responsible for leaking the story if he's not found guilty of the allegations. I think they call it slander. The NCAA is operating on a slippery slope right now.

I don't see it happening, assuming Haith keeps his job and the whole thing just quietly goes away. Suing them would give them the subpoena power they didn't have before and even though the question should only be whether or not it was wrongfully leaked that a show cause order was going to be issued, I'm sure all the underlying dirt will come to the surface too. If I'm Haith, I don't want that either.

My feelings from yesterday have almost taken a 180. I'm now thinking Haith escapes this investigation.

I'm looking at it as if Haith is fired, he won't have anything to lose. But if he doesn't lose his job, then yeh it'd be career suicide to try to sue. He would be better off just letting it fade into the past. There has been nothing proven and with all the NCAA mess sufacing now with what Semo was talking about, even with subpoenaed witnesses, it would be hard to nail anything down in court. Corruption and extortion on the NCAA's part if proven is actually a plus for Haiths side in that situation. I'm sure there are alot of other things besides this case the NCAA wouldn't want to drag that into court either.

I can see it if he's fired. Otherwise, not so sure. Would be a lot of dirt the NCAA wouldn't want dragged out, but there would be a lot of talk about Haith, Shapiro and paying players that comes out too. That's why I can see it if he's fired, otherwise not. He sues and the NCAA will use that subpoena power to show they weren't wrong in the first place with the allegations.

Investigation suspended indefinitely by NCAA. They have thier own problems to address. Who'd a figgered? This was just reported by our local news.

Yeh, I don't disagree that it could ruin both sides. But those witnesses credability would be at question with all thats transpired recently. Thats why I say I think it would work in Haiths favor. The lawyers would probably block certain questions and witnesses key to the defendants case due to thier credability and association with the NCAA. There may also be conflict of interests involved too.
