Perhaps Walton, Barnett, & Jackson take the minutes available and make the defense much better.

You're probably a nice guy and all. But no one is buying this third year in a row pipe dream.

You could have half the team transfer, and there would still be the same peeps making a lineup including ball boys, and janitors, and still dreaming of something good.

This is beyond koolaid. This is Buds and bongs material.

Honestly I haven't bought in on KA, I just like giving an opposite opinion.

Having said that neither Isabel nor Wright were known for defensive effort. So yes the defense can be better next year. Is it enough to offset what TI/Wright gave offensively?
Walton, Puryear, & maybe Barnett are the only guys I see that could be double figure scorers next year.

A&M offered Corprew

That's not going to help.

Dembele has offers from NC State, Iowa State and interest from Maryland and Georgetown.

I don't know how a kid who even wants to come to Mizzou can say yes over those other offers.

I was joking. Parroting the lines we heard when Jw3 left.

Saw that Corprew has a top 3 of kU, A&M, & Mizzou.
The kU offer isn't a comitable one. They have 2 guys ahead of him on their wish list.

I find it unbelievable that our situation is so bad that no coach will come. But top players will.

I will believe it when I see it.

There's still lots of coaches that would take the job. It's just that the really good ones want stability within the university. The ones the MR was interested wanted that stability. Next year will be a better chance at getting one of those.

I did see that 2 dorms will be closed next year due to the decrease in enrollment. It's a great chance to turn one of them into a sports only dorm.

Just further evidence that this is an unbearably bad situation. It is untenable and must change. Embarrassing.

PM has said Barnett is considered a PF by the staff. So that's another undersized player that KA is going to throw out there. Next year has a high probability of being worse than this year with the JV team KA will put on the floor. He's so far in over his head it's ridiculous.

that's interesting. I had been under the impression that he was being brought in to play on the wing.

Puryear, Barnett, & Gant can be a decent frontcourt combination, offensively. Still too small for my liking on defense.

Jackson has always played PF in high school and AAU, but is being brought in as a wing.

That's what I always though. From what I saw, Barnett does not have a wing skill set.

We love undersized post players.

I usually agree with you man but I don't think we are. Hell we might not have enough people to field a team. How many has KA lost since he has been here. A KC station said five since this fall.

Addition by subtraction.

Namon Wright was a cancer. Isabel was selfish and also likes Indian food.

We will be a better team next year with less scorers.

KU is not a factor in Corprew. They are recruiting Ferguson, Jackson, and Maker and would sign any of them over him. They have one schollie unless Selden or one of their other kids leave. They will get at least one of them. A&M offering him is concerning though.

7 guys coming back, 3 signed, still recruiting for the final 2-3 spots. Still think it's possible that the development of guys like Phillips, Walton, Gant, & Puryear can make the team better even with Wright leaving.

Bright side. We can use the youth excuse for a 3rd time next year

I get the sarcasm Reedus but no dice as far as I'm concerned. I've been very supportive of KA but now it's time to put up or pack up.

I agree with you Wtodd. The fact of the matter is that you have to show real and tangible progress at some point. And yes I mean in the record. Because of the smaller numbers you have to deal with, a coach can produce those changes faster in basketball than any other sport. At some point it's no longer program rebuilding but just ineptitude.

We'll pack the non-con with bunnies and hit SEC play with a 9-3 or so record.

And still finish in the bottom 3 of the SEC. I'm guessing 6-12 in conference.

That puts us at .500 and presto - progress. And all the KAers say "we've got to give him year 4" when we will have made WL progress without really getting better.

Honestly I think by the time Puryear/walton/TP are seniors we could be set for a deep NIT run. GET EXCITED
