Maybe some good news???

Rob Edwards

@RobertDEdwards
JUST IN: Dick Vitale says on ESPN that Michael Porter, Jr. was dunking after shootaround. He says Cuonzo Martin said “don’t be surprised” if Porter plays again this season. #Mizzou

Man...that sure doesn't seem like something Cuonzo would say or better yet...he'd want Vitale to repeat

I wonder if Vitales source saw this and made his own conclusions?

Why do people just assume dudes are going to get hurt if they come back in Basketball?

If he's healthy he'll play

He didn’t have to have surgery. He could’ve rehabbed and been back probably before conference play. The surgery was to get him to the draft. The flirtation with playing is just that.

frick Dickie V and the individual/s that goaded him into spewing that shite. MPJ isn't the story. The job this team is doing on defense and the staffs efforts to get them to this point is. I hope that old bastard gets crabs and tries to kill them with an ice pick.

ESPN has been more interested in MPJ than this team the moment he committed to Mizzou

I put "MPJ will be back" on my ignore list back in November.

It's removed emotional rollercoasters and distractions.

Longtime Mizzou fans want to do this but can't

Don't see him back before the end of February. If he does come back it will be in a very limited role with the purpose being to show NBA scouts something. It won't do much for the team and is just as likely to be disrupting. He's also likely not strong enough yet to play the D that Gonzo likes.

He's a non-factor for Mizzou this year at best. Then he either stays or goes NBA. If he's looking at top 5 I don't know how he stays, but stranger things have happened I guess

One could assert he's the reason we have Tilmon and Jontay and sold so many tickets. Even if he doesn't play, he's very much a factor in the turnaround of this program

I've just don't believe MPJ wants his college legacy to be 2 minutes and 2 points.

I can think of about 20 million reasons. If he's a top 5 pick there is only risk for him to come back. If everything goes well he's still a top 5 pick. If he get's hurt or has an off year it'll cost him millions. I'm sure dad knows this very well

Look I know every reason for him to leave but having your college career to be an asterisk is not what I think he wants. There's virtually a 100% chance I'm wrong and that's OK.

Sounds like next week he could be cleared to play. This team needs him badly.

I expect Michael Porter to come back next season. I think he wants to play in college, at least for one season. He probably also wants to play with his brother Jontay. BTW; Jontay has really improved this year. The pros will likely drool over him after his Sophomore season.
