I think that insipid charmin post was just just a red herring. In truth, everbody's internal clocks get niggley, when DST changes mess with our psyche.

Kills,
I don't disagree with you. She was dishing it out. And to be fair, I didn't see any problem until the name calling started. That makes it personal.

And yes, some of those phrases offend me personally. I guess it's because when a guy calls another guy some disparaging, sexist name, it feels very different than when a guy calls a girl a comparable name. One feels like it's trading brotherly insult; the other just feels disparaging and disrespectful. That's why I personally try to stay away from comments like that.

I respect your right to say what you want - and mine to decide if it offends me.

True! And wasn't there a full moon a few days ago too?

Sorry you and she were offended.

However, don't go on a message board dominated by men and then attack like a man but later claim that said men went overboard and became sexist.

We're not on a professional etiquette board. And to be honest, "clit" isn't the worst thing that she could have been called. It isn't even the worst c-word she could have been called...especially since I was changing "cock on the block" to more appropriate describe a female.

It fit the situation perfectly.

And that's why I very rarely get involved in those flame-fests.

And I like Bogie's analogy of Wendy and the Lost Boys. I'm going to get an avi and signature alone those lines.

The Charmin Post showed what real trolling is to the Mizzou people. Kills' subsequent post was trolled correctly.

Charmin Post = Moronic way to set up a hundred people talking shite about Mizzou.
Kills' UF Win Post = Trolling.

Am I missing something here?

Kills, you are way cool in my book. You deflect alot of shite from the rest of us and I appreciate that, seriously. You're also our resident master troller (like duh) and enjoy watching you frick with people, it's hilarious most of the time. I just wanted to make that clear, bud.

I don't care how you slice it....it's just a message board etc...it's still wrong to use the clit, bitch, or vagina word (amongst others) when communicating with a female. Semo is right, it's disrespectful regardless. I'm not whining about it, or going to make a big issue of it. I was just raised to respect women and that never departed from me. Not saying you weren't, just think there is a better way to make your point without lowering yourself to that.

Alright...alright...y'all win.

I don't want to offend women. My daddy would curb stomp me if he knew that I did that (Belle isn't a woman though. Perhaps a sasquatch?).

Regardless, I won't use sexist terms anymore.

Instead of clit, I'll call it the "Little Man in the Canoe" or "the last bean in the pod".

So, when I told Belle to quit acting all clit-on-the-block, I should've said something like:

Belle, quit acting all little-man-in-the-canoe-on-the-block.

Kills, think about it this way. If you'd say it to your sister, or wife, or daughter, or another woman that you love, it's probably OK. If not....why say it? You're plenty creative - come up with some funny, less offensive insults!

I was arguing sports with a guy one time, and winning. He was frustrated that I knew more than him, and jokingly asked if I was going to go home and pee standing up. I thought that was funny. If, on the other hand, he'd called me a dyke (which I'm not) or a bitch (which I'm usually not) or some form of genitalia....I'd have been offended.

I have been around some women who are as bad or worse than most men I've been around as far as cussing, insulting and the like. It's those instances when I get pushed into a corner it brings the darker, nasty and numbness to others feelings out in me. I'd rather try to trade whits than degrading name calling, but when it gets personal and downplaying your personal life (which was a mistake on my part for bringing it to the board) it goes beyond dark for me. It starts raising alittle evil.

I broke a cardinal rule of exposing my personal life in a flame fest and opened myself up to a response I was'nt expecting.

As far as this last go-round, it's not the worst I've been involved with. It was bad because it got nasty with a women involved and thats why It bothers me. If it had been another guy, I'd shrug it and go on. But this site is'nt half the shite I've been involved with before when it comes to being nasty. There is much much worse. Been there.

Okay, I'll be more creative when I call Belle a name in the future.

Personally, I think little-man-in-the-canoe-on-the-block is funny as shite, but I'll try harder next time.

Cockless-on-the-block?
