It’s great to control your own destiny–just ask members of Mizzou’s recruiting class.
While South Carolina has to wait and hope that Mizzou loses this weekend, the Tigers just have to take care of business at home against Texas A&M and they’ll play in their first SEC Championship game.
Easier said than done, right? Especially when the matchup involves last year’s Heisman Trophy winner, Johnny Manziel.
“Hopefully we can contain him,” Mizzou DB commit Logan Cheadle told Saturday Down South. “Johnny Football is a playmaker, but the defense just has to make one more play than them … It’s pretty cool it is Mizzou’s second year in the SEC and they’re already showing they belong with the best of the best.”
Finis Stribling, the unofficial spokeman of the 2014 Mizzou class, chimed in too. Stribling is from Tennessee, but he’s fired up about what he future home state is doing in the SEC.
And he’d love to see them in the SEC Championship game next week.
“I’m too excited; I get hype up just thinking about playing for the team next year,” Stribling told SDS. “In the preseason there were a lot of doubters and MIzzou came out and shocked the world.”
Quarterback commit Marvin Zanders is actually taking his official visit this weekend to see his future team play.
“I’m expecting us to go ahead and handle business, and I’m so excited how well we are doing this year,” Zanders told SDS. “I can’t wait to take my visit and see it in person.”
Paul Adams, an offensive line recruit, said its Texas A&M and South Carolina who have all the pressure on them.
“It’s good to be underrated, because we don’t have that burden on our back, so we can just go out there and play,” Adams told SDS. “I’m very excited. I think if we just keep doing what we dod best, we’ll be fine and it’ll be fun.”
