This seems bad to me. Say what you will, but sexual assault is nothing to scoff at. Dixon should have been kicked off the team, no brainer.
Trust me, as a female, I have no tolerance for sexual assault. I spent 4 years as a volunteer advocate for victims of sexual assault. We worked 24 hour sifts manning phone calls from victims and sitting with them as they went through the secondary assault as hospital would examine and collect evidence for rape kit. My worst day ever was making hospital run three times in one 24 hour sift.
I really appreciate and feel good about all our male Mizzou fans who are outraged and disgusted by sexual misconduct, let alone rape. But my experience also tells me that not every charge of sexual assault is valid. Small percentage, to be sure, but same could be said about convicted prisoners. Although the cases are rare, one is too many.
Maybe Anderson and school should have booted him. On the other hand, if charges were not filed, and female wants no publicity, the university might likely become a defendant in a lawsuit from Dixon. Also article did not state who suggested she might want to change her job. And she did state there was no pressure from anyone to do so.
Dixon and ladies are the only ones who really know for certain what took place. I try to keep an open mind, but getting harder as more info has come to light.

Now that he's gone, does anyone know if Bull can handle the ball? Him and Brown are the only 2 I can think of. Those that have tried thus far have shown me they can't. We need someone beyond Pressey badly.

He's done at Mizzou.
Gabe DeArmond ?@GabeDeArmond
Strongly believe Mike Dixon's basketball career at #Mizzou is over now. Unsure when that will become official, but doubt it takes very long.

I think we end up leaning heavily on Phil and Brown..
Looks like this years team and last years has flipped strengths.

I was thinking the same thing. Went from having nothing but guards and guys that can handle the ball with little height to plenty of height but no ball handlers.

A little bit more damning of the program. Ouch!!!

According to a source who worked in the basketball office in 2010, former Missouri basketball coach Mike Anderson said there was no substantial evidence to suspend Dixon indefinitely, but that Anderson knew that if he did not take any action, it would cause a backlash.
"Anderson was like, 'We're going to believe our players,'" said the source, who requested anonymity for fear of reprisals. "It was important that they suspend Dixon those first few games because it wasn't in the real season, and they needed him to play during the actual games."
"They weren't adamant about finding the truth out," the source said. "It was good that she dropped it and they weren't going to push it any further."

Dixon was accused of rape in 2010 too. That report sounds a lot uglier than this recent one. Apparently MA knew about and did little if anything. Now he's gone. That's about it.

I will say this though, Haith handled it a lot better than Anderson. I don't know if he had any choice, but I think he did a remarkable job for all sides with the way he handled it even if I was getting frustrated not knowing what was going on.

Yeah. He did nothing wrong. Put it all in caps, bro. That makes things come true.

Stripes, you can read the Post article and the Missourian article that are linked in the last couple of pages, it'll tell you everything you need to know. He's gone, and sounds like the right decision.
With Anderson's lack of action, it's potentially opened up the AD and University to a lawsuit from this most recent girl, and any others that may come out of the woodwork. Terrible.
