The design was good execution was not.
Geist has to be better at using the screener (Barnett)and get to the paint. If he does that both Robertson and Barnett would have been available for the game winner.

Another terrible freaking play with 13 seconds left! Martin sucks as an in game coach!

Our play.....get the ball in...dribble down and jack up a contested 3 ball from Geist! If you want Robertson to shoot it, then get him the damn ball on the inbounds. Instead...we go back to Columbia, Mo with a loss. We fought back hard to get back in the game, then pissed it away from the 4 minute mark on. I don’t think Martin knows how to coach in close games. If he does, I haven’t seen it yet!

He’s not fast enough to be a P5 point guard. He can’t create separation and gets nothing off the dribble. Why Cuonzo continues to go to him is a mystery.

Because he has no one else. Phillips was the better option in this game but couldn't stay on the floor.

This is not correct. If Geist does what the play is designed to do, Robertson is open on the backside. Unfortunately it’s going to take Cuonzo more than 1 offseason to upgrade the talent on the team to execute that play correctly.

Did Phillips foul out?

I disagree completely. How many tight games has Martin won this year? From the 4 minute mark on, he had Geist standing at half court bleeding the clock. It’s about like a prevent defense in football. All it does is prevent you from winning.

Martin has not shown 1 thing to the positive in a tight game to help win it. If you can think of 1, please share it with me!

You're failing to understand that if the player can't execute, then you design a different play. That is coaching. Geist has established the fact that he can't execute. Continuing to put the ball in his hands is on the coaching.

Martin doesn't turn the ball over and run the point.

We simply do not have someone who can be trusted with the ball at the end of the game.

Zo needs a grad transfer and a freshman PG in this class.

Talent wins on the final play of both Florida and Arkansas games. The plays had good designs.

Your failing to understand that it will take Cuonzo more than 1 offseason to upgrade the talent. And the play works if Geist does what the play was designed to do.

Forget that! We lost the damn game at the 4 minute mark!
What did we do to get back into the game, and actually take the lead? We spread the floor, penetrated, and kicked the ball out for wide open shots! Do you actually think we can do nothing from the 4 minute mark on with a 1 point lead and win? Cause I got news for ya...ya can’t! And yes, Martin called for us to do just that. Bleed the clock and try and score with very little time left on the shot clock. How did that work us? Not worth a shite! We quit doing what it took for us to go ahead. It should have never come down to a last second shot, which we are no good at anyway....Florida should have proven that already! Keep playing and doing what got you to the point of leading the game. Heck, we might actually extend the lead and not come down to a last second play gone awry again!

The screen was blown up which threw the play off, but if I'm calling that play it gets in the hands of Robertson off of the inbounds.

Screen and roll with Barnett at the top of the key with about 6 seconds left and one of them at least gets the ball up.

Geist panicked too. Not sure if we had a TO left, but if so there was time to call it when he was trapped in the corner.

I understand we have poor talent at point guard. He should too! Don’t put the ball in his hands! Throw it in to Robertson. Is that simple enough?

Giving the ball to Geist isn’t a good design. Frank Lloyd Wright couldn’t design a play for Geist to successfully run against a P5 team.
